British Doctors attack Israeli Medical Professionals

UK doctors try to oust Israel from World Medical Association
Head of Israel Medical Association warns Israeli doctors are in 'grave danger' as boycott rears ugly head against Israeli medical community

"A group of 71 British physicians have begun to exert pressure on the World Medical Association (WMA) to revoke the membership of the Israel Medical Association (IMA), it was revealed in a Knesset meeting on Wednesday.

IMA representative Dr. Ze'ev Feldman announced the disturbing new step during a Knesset Science and Technology Committee meeting on the subject of boycotts against Israeli academic institutions.

"The sword of the boycott has been raised against the scientific medical community in Israel," he declared, warning that Israel’s medical doctors are “in grave danger."

"The professional British journals have adopted the idea of letters to the editor that libel Israel doctors," he added. "They claim our doctors perform medical torture on Palestinian patients.”

Committee chairman MK Uri Maklev (United Torah Judaism) blasted the efforts of the anti-Israel British doctors, noting that "the phenomenon of academic boycotts is spreading and is connected to the economic and consumer boycotts against Israel.

The Donald Ducks

Dry Bones cartoon: Kirschen,Donald, Trump, Donald Trump, FOX, FOX News, Superman, debate, Presidential campaign, politics, USA,
According to the Washington Post:
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump abruptly announced here Tuesday that he would not participate in Thursday’s scheduled debate, escalating his off-and-on feud with Fox News Channel and throwing the GOP campaign into turmoil.

Trump’s assertion, which his campaign manager insisted was irreversible, came less than one week before the kickoff Iowa caucuses. He once again defied the conventional rules of politics, and used his power and prominence to shape the campaign agenda and conversation.

So far, Trump’s untraditional moves have only expanded his support, but his threatened boycott leaves him open to criticism that for all his tough talk he is ducking face-to-face confrontations with his opponents and scrutiny from the Fox moderators. -more

Holocaust Remembrance Day

Dry Bones cartoon: Kirschen,Holocaust,Nazi, Shoah, Jews, Jewish history, Remembrance, Holocaust Remembrance Day,
There are two annual days of Holocaust remembrance.

1. International Holocaust Remembrance Day, is an international memorial day on 27 January commemorating the victims of the Holocaust, the genocidal murder of an estimated 6 million Jews, 2 million Roma, 250,000 mentally and physically disabled people, and 9,000 homosexual men by the Nazi regime and its collaborators. The date was chosen to mark the liberation, on January 27 1945, of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp.

2. The Jewish holiday of Yom HaShoah ( Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Day) is a national day of commemoration in Israel, on which the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust and the Jewish resistance to the Nazis are memorialized. Yom HaShoah 2016 begins in the evening of Wednesday, May 4 and ends in the evening of Thursday, May 5.The original proposal was to hold Yom HaShoah on the 14th of the Hebrew month of Nisan, the date of the Warsaw ghetto uprising (April 19, 1943), but this was problematic because the 14th of Nisan is the day immediately before Passover. The date was therefore moved to the 27th of Nisan, which is eight days before Yom Ha'atzma'ut,(Israeli Independence Day)

Educational resources for both observances are available at Holocaust Information

Amazons and Amazon

Dry Bones cartoon: Kirschen, Dry Bones, Amazon, Amazons, Haggadah, Passover,Wonder Woman,
Our Amazon Store
Amazons; the warrior women.
In Greek mythology, the Amazons were a race of woman warriors. The Amazons that I knew as a kid were, of course the Amazon women who lived in the comic book world of Paradise Island (a place forbidden to men). The superheroine Wonder Woman was actually the Amazon princess Diana who battled evil in the real world using the cover identity of Diana Prince. In today’s cartoon I drew the Amazons wearing Wonder Woman’s costume. BTW, the 2017 Warner Brothers Wonder Woman movie stars Israeli Actress Gal Gadot

Amazon; the world's biggest store.
The Amazon company was the brainchild of Jeff Bezos. It went online as Amazon.com in 1995 and marketing has never been the same. When we decided to seriously market and distribute the Dry Bones Passover Haggadah, there was only one choice, and it wasn’t the sexy girls in the Wonder Woman outfits.

U.K. Lawmakers Hold Debate on Barring Donald Trump
Members of British Parliament discuss restricting the U.S. presidential hopeful from entering the country

LONDON—British lawmakers debated on Monday whether Donald Trump should be barred from the U.K., the latest international fallout to his call for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the U.S.

The debate doesn’t compel the government to take any action, and the government has already signaled that Mr. Trump, a businessman with interests in the U.K., won’t be barred. But the unusual parliamentary session marks a rare intervention by British lawmakers into a U.S. presidential hopeful’s campaign.

Immigration Minister James Brokenshire said the government doesn't comment on people who may be prevented from entering the country. But he added that the U.S. was the U.K.’s most important bilateral partner and it was in Britain’s interest to engage with all presidential hopefuls even if there was profound disagreement.

A mother of six is targeted by a Palestinian terrorist and stabbed to death Sunday. His father's reaction is not one of horror or shame.
"I am proud of him," the father of Murad Bader Abdullah Adais told Palestinian media, reports Israel National News.
Adais fatally stabbed Meir at the entrance of her house in the town of Otniel, south of Hebron, while three of six children were home. Meir's initial struggle with Adais forced him to flee the scene, perhaps saving her children from the attacker. Following an intense manhunt, Israeli authorities arrested Adais Tuesday morning.
A Palestinian news website – QudsN – celebrated the murder by posting an incendiary graphic that features the town's name Otniel in Arabic, with a bloody knife forming the last letter."-more

Migrant Rapes of European Women

Dry Bones cartoon: Kirschen, terror, terrorism, migrants, Europe, Islamists, rape, EU, Europe,According to the Spectator:
It’s not only Germany that covers up mass sex attacks by migrant men... Sweden’s record is shameful Stockholm police were warned not to give descriptions of the perpetrators lest they were accused of being racist

It took days for police to acknowledge the extent of the mass attacks on women celebrating New Year’s Eve in Cologne. The Germans were lucky; in Sweden, similar attacks have been taking place for more than a year and the authorities are still playing catch up. Only now is the truth emerging, both about the attacks and the cover-ups. Stefan Löfven, our Prime Minister, has denounced a ‘double betrayal’ of women and has promised an investigation. But he ought to be asking this: what made the police and even journalists cover up the truth?

The answer can be discovered in the reaction to the Cologne attacks. Sweden prides itself on its sexual equality and has even pioneered a feminist foreign policy. When hundreds of women were reported to have been molested and abused in Cologne — at the hands of an organised mob — the reaction from Swedish politicians and pundits ought to have been one of outrage.

Instead, we were told that the events in Cologne were not unusual. An article in Aftonbladet, Sweden’s largest tabloid, argued that it was racist to point out that the perpetrators in Cologne had been described as North African or Arab, since German men had carried out sexual assaults during Bavaria’s Oktober-fest. Another Aftonbladet article said that reporting on the Cologne attacks was bowing to right-wing extremism. Over the last week, we have been told over and over that the real issue is men, not any particular culture — that Swedish men are no better.

Migrant Gangs Attacking Women

Dry Bones cartoon: Kirschen, terror, terrorism, migrants, Europe, Islamists, rape, EU, Europe,According to the Daily Mail
Migrant rape fears spread across Europe: Women told not to go out at night alone after assaults carried out in Sweden, Finland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland amid warnings gangs are co-ordinating attacks

Sweden has issued warnings to women to be wary of potential attacks
15 young women have reported being groped by men in Kalmar, Sweden
Austrian police have come under fire after claims attacks were covered-up
Finnish police say they have information that the attacks are co-ordinated
Vienna's police chief advises women not to go out on the streets alone
Cologne police chief Wolfgang Albers relieved of his duties over handling of New Year's Eve sex attacks

Security authorities are growing increasingly concerned by the rising number of sex attacks by gangs of migrants which appear to be spreading across Europe.
Finland and Sweden today became the latest European countries to issue warnings to women to be wary of the threat of sex attacks following fresh reports of sexual assaults in the last week, while the Viennese police chief adviced women not to go outside alone in Vienna.
The warnings come as reports emerged that Austrian and German police tried to cover-up the issue over fears of reprisal attacks on asylum seekers and damage to the countries' tourist trade. Dozens of arrests have been made today in connection with the wave of recent sex attacks across Europe.

If it Ain't Broke . . .

Dry Bones cartoon: Kirschen,Twitter, Tweets, technology, digital age, Godzilla,
The old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" does not seem to apply in our digital age.
It seems like every time that I "update" one of my phone apps it becomes worse, instead of better.
So now they're going to "fix" or "upgrade" Twitter??

According to Forbes:

Twitter’s investors have long clamored for bold changes that would reenergize the company, attract new users and lift the stock out of its doldrums. Three months into his tenure as permanent CEO, Jack Dorsey appears to be listening to their pleas.

Twitter is said to be working on a feature that would allow users to create tweets with as many as 10,000 characters, obliterating the 140-character limit that’s been synonymous with the microblogging service since its inception, -more

Islamism 2016

Dry Bones cartoon: Kirschen, Islamism, Shia, Sunni, Iran, Saudi Arabia, World domination,
This detailed background report on the latest in the current situation is from http://counterjihadreport.com/:
Saudi Arabia cut off diplomatic ties to Iran, saying Iran must act like “a normal country” instead of “a revolution.” The remarks came after an Iranian mob, allegedly made up of protesters, attacked the Saudi embassy. The attack was in reprisal forSaudi Arabia’s execution of a Shi’ite cleric, Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, as part of a wave of executions allegedly aimed at crippling terror organizations within the Kingdom. The Sheikh had accused the Saudi government of mistreating Shi’ites, and called for the secession of the eastern part of the country. Others among the 47 executed included alleged al Qaeda leaders. Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, Saudi Arabia’s top religious leader, said that the executions were “a mercy to the prisoners” because it would keep them from further damaging their souls via evil acts. Although Iran says that a top police official went to the mob attacking the Saudi embassy to disperse it, the suspicion that the mob was a proxy by Iran’s government is highly credible. Iran still celebrates as a national holiday the Iranian Revolution’s mob overrunning of the American Embassy in 1979, when the hostages seized and held for more than a year were used by the new Islamic Republic of Iran in an attempt to extort the United States. In that environment, even without official organization the citizens of Iran know that mob attacks on the diplomatic enemies of their government will be welcomed and praised as authentic examples of the spirit of the revolution. Saudi Arabia’s comments about Iran needing to act like a normal nation instead of a revolution are meant in that context.

The feud between the two nations has both ancient roots and contemporary flash points. Saudi Arabia sees itself as the leader of the Islamic world as a whole, because it contains the holy city of Mecca and most of the important scenes of the life of Muhammad, the founder of the Islamic religion. However, it sides with the Sunni view of the proper leadership of Islam, a civil war between factions of the Islamic world that began hundreds of years ago shortly after Mohammed’s death. Sunnis followed a claim that the leadership of the Islamic world should fall to those with the greatest degree of education and investment in the religious ideology. Shi’a Islam believed that only blood descendants of Muhammad ought to lead Islam. This led to a series of murders and bloodshed among the generation immediately after Muhammad, capped by the Battle of Karbala in the 61st year of the Islamic calendar, or A.D. 680. The Shi’ite faction lost and their leader, Hassan ibn Ali, was killed. The Shi’ite holy festivals of Ashura and Arba’een commemorate this defeat, and are still today marked by huge pilgrimages with self-flagellation and self-cutting by the pilgrims.

In terms of the current flash points, Iran and Saudi Arabia are backing opposite sides in a regional conflict dominated by the wars in Syria and Yemen. Iran has beendeveloping a series of Shi’a militias ideologically loyal to its particular vision of that faith as a means of exerting its influence to dominate a crescent of the Middle east from Yemen and Afghanistan to the Levant. The Saudi government officially bans support to terrorist groups, but has been allowing its citizens to route money through Kuwait to radical Sunni groups including al Nura Front and the Islamic State (ISIS). Saudi Arabia is also leading a coalition of regional nations against Iran’s proxies in Yemen, the Houthis, a band of Shi’ite tribes bent on replacing the admittedly corrupt and inefficient government there.

Saudi Arabia has diplomatic allies who are backing its play. Bahrain, which happens also to be the headquarters of the United States Fifth Fleet, has joined Saudi Arabia in suspending diplomatic relations with Iran. The UAE has downgraded its relationship. Sudan has also cut off Iran.

Although Iran is framing its immediate conflict with Saudi Arabia as over what it describes as politically-motivated executions, Iran has executed three times as many persons as Saudi Arabia in recent years. Many of these, possibly thousands of them, are of political dissidents opposed to the existing regime. By contrast, Saudi Arabia executed fewer than fifty in the end-of-year purge.

Outside of the realms of diplomacy and war, the conflict also has ramifications for the global price of oil. However, rising oil prices may be offset by the entry of Iran’s oil reserves into the global markets pending the full implementation of the Iran nuclear deal.
