Palestinian Father, Social Media Praise Terrorist Who Murdered Israeli Mother
A mother of six is targeted by a Palestinian terrorist and stabbed to death Sunday. His father's reaction is not one of horror or shame.
"I am proud of him," the father of Murad Bader Abdullah Adais told Palestinian media, reports Israel National News.
Adais fatally stabbed Meir at the entrance of her house in the town of Otniel, south of Hebron, while three of six children were home. Meir's initial struggle with Adais forced him to flee the scene, perhaps saving her children from the attacker. Following an intense manhunt, Israeli authorities arrested Adais Tuesday morning.
A Palestinian news website – QudsN – celebrated the murder by posting an incendiary graphic that features the town's name Otniel in Arabic, with a bloody knife forming the last letter."-more

Swine Flu

The bizarre antisemitic incitement by Palestinian officials (both in Hamas-controlled Gaza and the "moderate" Fatah-controlled Palestinian Authority on the "West Bank") continues.

In the very latest libel: Palestinian authorities have accused Israel of spreading AIDS, STDs, and supplying "Aphrodisiac chewing gum" to innocent Palestinian youth:

"Hamas police spokesman Islam Shahwan said recently that Israeli intelligence officers are behind the smuggling of sexually stimulating drops and chewing gum into Gaza to "weaken and destroy" Palestinian youth and the social structure, according to Palestinian news agency FPNP ("Firas- Palestine News Press")

Shahwan claimed that a parent had complained to police that his daughter had chewed the Israeli gum and suffered "side effects." He said that Hamas police had subsequently arrested the distributors, confiscated the aphrodisiacs and confirmed that the drugs had been supplied by Israeli intelligence.

This accusation is one more example of the continuing PA campaign by both Fatah and Hamas to demonize Israel based on libels by officials, who accuse Israel of trying to poison or corrupt Palestinian youth. For the last 10 years, the Palestinian Authority Fatah leaders have been disseminating the libel that Israel spreads AIDS and sexually-transmitted diseases among Palestinian youth, turns them into drug addicts and has a special intelligence unit devoted to distributing drugs to Palestinian teenagers.

One PA official even accused Israel of distributing sports shoes that cause the wearer to become paralyzed, and perfumes that cause drug addiction." -more

Hamas Moves on Fatah 'Collaborators'

The Hamas government has placed dozens of Fatah members under house arrest out of fear that they might exploit the current IDF operation to regain control of the Gaza Strip.

The move came amid reports that the Fatah leadership in the West Bank has instructed its followers to be ready to assume power over the Gaza Strip when and if Israel's military operation results in the removal of Hamas rule.

Fatah officials in Ramallah told The Jerusalem Post that Hamas militiamen had been assaulting many Fatah activists since the beginning of the operation last Saturday. They said at least 75 activists were shot in the legs while others had their hands broken. Wisam Abu Jalhoum, a Fatah activist from the Jabalya refugee camp, was shot in the legs by Hamas militiamen for allegedly expressing joy over the IDF air strikes on Hamas targets.

"Hamas is very nervous, because they feel that their end is nearing," a senior Fatah official said. "They have been waging a brutal campaign against Fatah members in the Gaza Strip."

Meanwhile, sources close to Hamas revealed over the weekend that the movement had "executed" more than 35 Palestinians who were suspected of collaborating with Israel and were being held in various Hamas security installations. -more

It's now five months since the Saudi-negotiated peace between Hamas and Fatah. At the time I posted a cartoon called Palestinian Fairy Tale

Are the Arab regimes now crumbling in the face of Persion expansionism and the setting up of Iranian puppet clients in the region like Hamas and Hizbullah? Will the Saudis now back off and try to protect their butts by appeasing Hamas ...and dumping the idea of the Saudi brokered "Peace Plan" for Israel?

According to a Reuters report:

JERUSALEM, July 4 (Reuters) - "Israel believes an Arab peace initiative is on hold because of Saudi objections to Western efforts to isolate Hamas Islamists, officials said on Wednesday.

The 2002 plan promoted by Saudi Arabia and revived in March, offers Israel normal relations with Arab states in exchange for its withdrawal from all territory captured in the 1967 Middle East war.

Although Israel has said it could never consider, on security and demographic grounds, a return of Palestinian refugees or a full pullout from the occupied West Bank, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has pointed to what he termed positive aspects of the proposal.

The initiative "is on hold, nobody is advancing it," one of the Israeli officials said.

The officials said some Arab countries, notably Saudi Arabia, opposed U.S.-supported efforts to isolate Hamas following its defeat of President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah group in Gaza last month.

An analysis circulated among Israeli Foreign Ministry officials and obtained by Reuters said Saudi Arabia "had distanced itself from direct involvement in the Palestinian issue". -more

Mr. Sharpie

I called this cartoon/posting Mr. Sharpie. Here in the blogosphere, the columnist has to think up his/her own headlines.

Back in the world of paper-based newspapers, writing the headlines was the job of the headline writer. This was because headlines had to be written to "fit" the physical space allocated to the piece. i.e. is it a one-column head, two column head, what font size is being used... . Different papers had different styles... i.e. humorous, straight-forward, etc. Headline writers on papers that I worked for always seemed like crossword puzzle freaks to me. It's because, in the search for the proper "fit" it was common to hear a headline writer call out for help with requests like "I need a short word for organization."

For many years, my studio was in the Jerusalem Post building in Jerusalem. In addition to headline writers there was a translation department. Ads which were running in the Hebrew press often would be sent to the Post to be run in English translation. Other ads, taken in English by the Post would be translated and sent on to be run, in parallel, in a Hebrew paper. Thus the need for a room of translators. One day I happened to be in the room when I heard a translator call out for help. To this day I remember that moment which happened thirty years ago. The request was "How do you say efficiency In Hebrew?" After a moment of silence came the response. "Dag B'Yam."

* * * For those of you who don't speak Hebrew, "Dag B'Yam" means "a fish in a sea".

The Game in Gaza

Watching Ahmadinejad and the latest moves in the neighborhood is becoming really interesting. Olmert and Bush think that the "Abbas" Palestine wants peace and Hamas is just a terrorist gang. I think that both the Abbas forces and Hamas are terrorists. Jimmy Carter supports Hamas and thinks that it is America, Israel, and the EU who are the criminals!

So what do you think?

Activists in Gaza

Ehud Olmert is off telling the world that Israel can now have peace talks with the Palestinian Authority because Hamas now controls Gaza! Why on Earth does Olmert think that this disaster enhances the chances for a peace agreement? The answer is simple. Abbas and the PA do not now control Gaza, so now they wont be expected (in any agreement) to stop missiles fired from Gaza... or infiltrating kidnap gangs from Gaza... or new tunnels... or whatever.

In assessing our situation we need to remember that our main enemy at this point in history is Iran (Persia). Let's not forget that the Persians invented the game of chess. They now control Gaza on our south and they've got another piece (Hizbullah) on our north.This deadly game requires our best and our brightest.

And that is just not Ehud Olmert.

Arab Cease-Fire (1976)

The news coming in as I write these words is that yet another cease-fire has been announced in the increasingly vicious and bloody war in Gaza between Fatah (PLO) and Hamas (the Iranian-backed group of Islamic crazies founded by the Egyptian "Moslem Brotherhood"). * * * A journalist friend just called to claim, in frustration, that she'd invented the term "Hamastan" which everybody is using to describe the Islamic state now rising on the land from which Israel withdrew. She was angry because she'd not been given credit for her light bulb moment... It was then that I had my flash of creativity, and, not wanting to be cheated of proper credit, I'm going public with it. Now.

The whackos and zanies in Gaza have gone berserk! So here's my name for the new Bizarro state next door: GAZANIA...
