Despicable Jew Hatred

Dry Bones cartoon,Jerusalem, riots, Temple Mount, Abdullah II, Jordan, UN,Arab League, Israel,
According to David Singer:
"Jordan, the Arab League and the UN’s failure to condemn the virulent Jew-hatred on public display during Ramadan at Islam’s third holiest religious site – the Al-Aksa Mosque – located on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem – is despicable.

Thousands of rioters defiled what is venerated as a Muslim Holy Shrine — converting it into a rallying point for flag-waving slogan-shouting Palestinian Arabs armed with rocks and Molotov cocktails to vent their hatred against Jews." -MORE

The Boycott Makeover

Dry Bones cartoon, Kirschen, BDS, Boycott, Arab League, makeover, Israel, antisemitism,
From Adam Milstein's Blog:
"it's important to recognize that BDS is nothing new. Those behind this campaign have simply put old wine in a new bottle. Anti-Israel and anti-American boycotts initiated in the Middle East have been a part of American life since the early 1970s - and past experience in fighting these anti-Semitic Movements should guide our response in the present. Arab boycotts of Jewish interests in the Land of Israel started as early as 1922, more than two decades before the establishment of a Jewish state in 1948. Arabs who violated this boycott were physically attacked by their brethren. Increasingly restrictive boycotts were instituted in 1933, 1934 and 1936. An official organized boycott of the Jewish community in Palestine was adopted by the Arab League in December 1945, and persisted against Israel after its founding, with the goal of isolating the Jewish state from the international community. Through the years, this boycott spread like a virus across the globe, resulting in institutionalized discrimination against Israeli goods and businesses." -more

the Syrian Army

Syria, Golan Heights, Israel, : Dry Bones cartoon.
It continues to look like the West refuses to recognize that there is a religious war currently gripping the world ...and that refusal to see the obvious is what makes Western strategies so laughingly out of step with reality.

Another aspect of the current situation is revealed by to understanding that Assad's Syria is a client state of Iran. So the suspension of Syria's membership in the Arab League is simply drawing the lines between the Sunni Arabs and the Iranian Shiites.

American Elections (2000)

(2000) Dry Bones cartoon: American Democracy and the Middle East Arab States.
Today's golden Oldie is ten years old. Nothing has changed. America is still having elections and the collection of theocracies, dictatorships, sheikdoms, and kingdoms that surround Israel are still a collection of theocracies, dictatorships, sheikdoms, and kingdoms.

The votes "still being counted" in the cartoon refer to the hotly contested Presidential battle between Al Gore (the Democrat candidate) and George W. Bush (the Republican) in 2000.

Divestment (2004)

(2004) Dry Bones cartoon: During the mid-1970's the United States adopted two laws that seek to counteract the participation of U.S. citizens in other nation's economic boycotts or embargoes
Today's cartoon is only six years old. I came across it but did not remember doing it. And I was struck by the point it made. Especially in light of the growing BDS movement. I decided to do some research. Here's what I found.

"During the mid-1970's the United States adopted two laws that seek to counteract the participation of U.S. citizens in other nation's economic boycotts or embargoes. These "antiboycott" laws are the 1977 amendments to the Export Administration Act (EAA) and the Ribicoff Amendment to the 1976 Tax Reform Act (TRA), [which is found in Section 999 of the Internal Revenue Code]."

Primary impact:

The Arab League boycott of Israel is the principal foreign economic boycott that U.S. companies must be concerned with today. The antiboycott laws, however, apply to all boycotts that are unsanctioned by the United States.

Who is covered by the laws?

The antiboycott provisions of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) apply to all "U.S. persons," defined to include individuals and companies located in the United States and their foreign affiliates. These persons are subject to the law when their activities relate to the sale, purchase, or transfer of goods or services between the United States and a foreign country. This covers U.S. exports and imports, financing, forwarding and shipping, and certain other transactions that may take place wholly offshore. -more

So is the cartoon correct? Are they getting away with possibly illegal secondary boycotts by calling them divestments?

Their Tragic Blunder

Dry Bones cartoon: Arabs being hit by the terrorism they sanctioned..
Just a few days ago I posted a piece about the Saudi Interior Minister recently appealing to Muslim clerics for help in stopping the plague that's been released. If you missed it (and the MEMRI video clip) click here.
* * *
By the way, back in 2001, the Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheik Abd Al-Aziz Bin Abdallah Al-Sheik said:
"I am not aware of anything in the religious law regarding killing oneself in the heart of the enemy's ranks, or what is called 'suicide'. This is not a part of Jihad, and I fear that it is merely killing oneself." -more
The Mufti's words fell on deaf ears back then. The whole disaster of violence being played out daily in Iraq and the broader region has indeed turned into some Greek tragedy with evil unleashed, people blinding themselves, and dire prophets of doom.

* * *
And speaking of Greek tragedy:

In Greek mythology Pandora, like Eve, was the first woman.

Pandora, like Eve, didn't listen to orders and unwittingly unleashed pain and suffering upon mankind.

Interesting that in such antithetical belief systems as Greek Paganism and Abrahamic Monotheism, there is one common thread.

Mankind blames his woes on womankind.

An Arabic Europe (1973)

1973 Dry Bones cartoon - The Arabs seem to be hijacking Europe.
Today's "Golden Oldie" is from 1973. Thirty four years ago. Back then I was upset at Europe's surrender to hostage-taking. I used the cartoon technique of "carrying it to the absurd" and reported on Europe being taken over by the Arabs.

Back then the idea was ludicrous. Back then I called the new Europe "the United Emirates of Europe".

These days, an Arab dominated Europe is not funny. And we already have a name for it, which you're probably familiar with.

It's called Eurabia.

Latest News

Dry Bones cartoon: Arab Foreign Ministers to Israel for a Meeting.
I've used this newscaster character in Dry Bones cartoons right from the very beginning. Today I'm using him to express shock at the news script he's reading. The shock is that his script reports the blunt truth . . . rather than the politically correct cover story about "the sudden positive turn" in the search for a "Middle East Peace".

Official story here. Enjoy yourself.
