"Israel successfully conducted a series of tests of the Arrow 3 missile defense system in Alaska, in cooperation with the American Missile Defense Agency (MDA), the Defense Ministry said on Sunday. This is the first time the Arrow 3 system managed to intercept a real missile, one that simulated a ballistic missile. * * * The question"How are you?"can be answered in two ways.
The first is "I'm Fine, and how are you?"

The alternate answer is "My family doctor checked me out and said that my lungs were clear and it looked like clear sailing from here on. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

Then, yesterday, I went to a renowned lung specialist

1. He said that my lungs were NOT in good shape
2. He sent me for a CT examination.
3. He said I'm in danger of "Sleep Apnea" and prescribed an inhaler.
4. He said that my sitting in a chair for he last six months and munching cheese sandwiches had resulted in my putting on a great deal of excess weight, which I now must immediately shed.

I left his office wallowing in a deep pit of dark depression and self-pity.
That was yesterday.

I've immediately given up the yummy cheese sandwiches and am now munching on green salads (part of a rigorous dietary program) and the LSW (Long Suffering Wife) bought me an inhaler
I'm also working on trying to see the bright side of the situation,
BTW, the LSW has just been diagnosed with cataracts!

Tomorrow I'm off to a lung doctor to verify (I hope) that my post pneumonia lungs are now clear (as my family doctor tells me). But I'm still on oxygen most of the time, so I don't really understand what's going on. The LSW (Long Suffering Wife) who has been in a body brace for some time also seems to be recovering from her troubles. All we have to worry about now is staying afloat financially. Protesters Block Major Road Junctions Across Israel After Ethiopian Teen Killed by Cop

Thousands of Israelis of Ethiopian descent and their supporters staged sit-down protests at major road junctions throughout the country on Tuesday after a member of the immigrant community was shot dead by police.

Around 20,000 Ethiopian Jews, who trace their roots to the biblical King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, were brought to Israel on secret flights in the mid-1980s and early 1990s. But they have at times complained of racist discrimination.

On Saturday, 18-year-old Solomon Tekah was shot dead in the northern city of Haifa by an off-duty policeman. The policeman said he drew his gun while trying to intervene in a brawl between two groups of youths, who ended up turning against him. A police spokesman said the officer who carried out the shooting had been arrested pending an investigation.

A Plan B for Donald Trump?

If Hamas and the PLO (the twin oppressors of the Palestinian Arabs) reject the "Deal of the Century", then maybe Trump should consider a "Plan B"!

Such action is certainly justified following the rejection of President Trump’s offer to inject US$6.5 billion into the West Bank and Gaza – with both Hamas and the PLO telling Trump they were not prepared to accept any financial assistance coming out of the Manama Conference jointly convened last week by Trump and Bahrain.-more

Entebbe Day

On June 27, 1976, four terrorists forced an Air France Airbus to land in Uganda, in the heart of distant Africa. The hijackers freed the French crew and in a Nazi-like selection, separated Jews from non-­Jewish passengers. They released the non-Jews and kept 105 Jewish and Israeli hostages.The hijackers demanded that Israel release 53 convicted terrorists. A deadline was set before executions would begin.
The grim news haunted us daily. July 3 1976, like all the days since June 27, was a dark, seemingly hopeless and depressing day. And then it was the 4th of July.
Those of us who here on that amazing day, July 4. 1976, will never forget the lifting of the weight from our hearts, or the joy that suddenly broke through with the news of the IDF rescue of the hostages.

Now, 43 years later, the echo of that wonderful day still brightens my soul. A 4th of July has never passed since 1976 that I haven't celebrated Entebbe Day.
