We are having very stormy, wet weather here in Israel this week, but it will pass. And rain is good or the farmers.

But storms on other fronts...The internal Israeli political scene has gone from bad to worse on so many different fronts this past week. I am hoping that it will be better soon. I was looking for an up and funny cartoon for today, but I came upon this one instead and it seemed to fit. You are welcome to share.

Hoping for Peace in the Middle East

And we are so very glad to have the living hostages returned. And we are hoping that all of the rest of our deceased hostages will be returned soon also. Shabbat Shalom!

Hoping that the Ceasefire Holds

  Dry Bones Blog Golden Oldies, now coming to you by Sali, the LSW (Long Suffering Wife)

It looks like a major threat here in Israel, of a nuke from Iran, was neutralized now that there is now a ceasefire. I wish that Yaakov were here to give his wisdom. Here is an older cartoon that I found. Hoping that the peace will last, but still we have the Gaza problem.

I almost had a night of sleep, but the sirens came again early this morning, and we had 4 rounds of sirens here in central Israel. Very unfortunately, one of the 400 kilo missiles made a direct hit on a large apartment building in Beersheba and killed 4 innocent people. They were in their shelter room according to the Homefront rules, but the missile made a direct hit exactly on the shelter. It is pretty frightening to see what damage a 400 kilo missile can do.

I am so hoping that this peace will hold and that we can now do something about Hamas in Gaza. Israel is distributing food packages, but Hamas is shooting at their own people to try to keep them away from the distribution center. 

We are all praying for the 20 or so remaining live hostages to be released, and the 30 or so bodies too.

The Magician

Ping Pong

Today's cartoon predicts what I think will be the next phase in the battle between the Supreme Court and the Knesset. But is it a battle between two branches of the government ? or is it a battle between two strong Israelis (Chief Justice Esther Hayut and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu)? I solved that problem (for me, at least) by drawing Hayut and Bibi, but labeling them as "The Supreme Court" and "The Knesset".
