Clinic patients 'stunned' by rocket attack
Rehabilitation center treating post-traumatic stress, victims of hostilities hit by rocket for fourth time

Ilana Curiel Published: 08.01.10, 20:18 /

"Less than 24 hours after sustaining a direct hit from a Qassam rocket, the hydrotherapy rehabilitation center in the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council has nearly returned to business as usual.

"Though people were hesitant and there were some who cried, we are at 100% capacity. Even after a day like that, people who were wounded in the past by Qassam rockets and hostile acts came here," said the manager of the center's rehabilitation ward, Irit Tzedek.

"This is the fourth time since rockets have started being fired at the western Negev that the rehabilitation center – which treats handicapped IDF veterans, victims of terrorist attacks, and post-traumatic stress disorder patients – has sustained a direct rocket hit. Funding for fortifying the building, it should be noted, was raised by center employees themselves without any assistance from government authorities or the Defense Ministry." For many patients, the rehabilitation center is like a second home. Amos Lilo, a handicapped IDF veteran wounded during the Second Lebanon War, believes the hit to the center is worse than destroying a house. "Please excuse the comparison, but this is a place for treating the handicapped. It's like damaging a hospital," he said.

"Lilo, who uses crutches to get around, insists on walking up to the second floor to see with his own eyes the destruction incurred by the rocket. "It is very painful. I am stunned by the damage. I am even more stunned by the personal insult. Targeting a center like this is like targeting my caretaker. At first, I didn't understand that the rocket hit here, even though I know that this is an area prone to misfortune. It is a little stressful to hear a siren every few hours, especially for trauma victims." -more

A Common Enemy

Happy Shavuot : Dry Bones cartoon, Kirschen, ISIS, Islamic State, common enemy, Hezbollah, Israel, Hamas, Sinai, Hezbollah, Iran, Egypt, Mideast, Middle East,
The latest according to Israel National News:
ISIS in Sinai Claims Attack on Hamas in Gaza
War of the terrorist groups? ISIS claims explosives attack on Hamas military post, after threatening war; Hamas is in denial.
"Islamic State's (ISIS) threats to declare war on Hamas in Gaza after the latter began a crackdown on local Salafist groups appears to be edging to fruition, after an ISIS-affiliate in the Sinai Peninsula on Friday claimed launching two "bombs" - reportedly 82 mm mortar shells - at Hamas posts in Gaza.
Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, which earlier this year swore loyalty to ISIS and changed its name to Sinai Province, claimed credit for the attack on a military post of Hamas's "military wing," the Al-Qassam Brigades in Khan Younis, located in southern Gaza."-more

The Two Palestines

Dry Bones cartoon: Brit PM .
Qassam rockets continue to rain down on the Negev town of Sderot. And the world, including the Israeli government, continues to ignore it. And so we will cede more of the land of Israel to the "good" terrorists.

Does anyone not understand that after the Annapolis appeasement concessions we will face an even hungrier and more aggressive foe?! ...and probably a Hamas-run West Bank as part of a reunited "Palestine"?

* * *

For further info on our concessions to the terrorists, watch your front pages and TV screens... For further info on the largely unreported war that is going on in the southern part of Israel, the Western Negev and in the city of Sderot, you'll have to check with SderotMedia.com.

UNRWA Employees

UNRWA Employees : Dry Bones cartoon.
In response to popular demand, I've used the Naive Newsman character again to further explore the fantasy world of TV News reporting of the Mideast "conflict".
* * *
Meanwhile, in the real world, U.S. Representative Steven R. Rothman of New Jersey has proposed Congressional legislation to "Ensure Terrorists are Not Employed by or Receive Benefits from UNRWA". The following paragraph is from the text of the proposed bill:
"UNRWA has employed staffers affiliated with terrorism, including Said Sayyam, the Hamas Minister of Interior and Civil Affairs, who was a teacher in UNRWA schools in Gaza from 1980 to 2003; Awad al-Qiq, the headmaster of an UNRWA school in the Gaza Strip who also led Islamic Jihad's engineering unit that built bombs and Qassam rockets; Nahed Rashid Ahmed Atallah, a prior senior UNRWA employee from 1990 to 1993 who was responsible for the dissemination of assistance to refugees while he was also an operative of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine; and Nidal Abd al-Fattah Abdallah Nazzal, a Hamas activist employed as an ambulance driver by UNRWA, who confessed in 2002 to transporting weapons and explosives to terrorists in an UNRWA ambulance;" -more

But We Said . . .

Dry Bones cartoon: These days, even WE don't believe what we say.
When Gaza was a sea of anarchy filled with competing criminal gangs and terrorist cells, Israel had to respond to missile attacks by trying to "take out" the guys who were launching the Qassam rockets at Sderot and other Israeli towns.

But Gaza is now under the iron rule of Hamas, a disciplined, IslamoFascist organization. Anarchy and independent action is gone. Finished. It's a new ballgame.

So why isn't Gaza being declared an area at war with Israel? Why isn't it being treated as an enemy territory?

Why are we still responding to daily missile attacks from Gaza as if the guys who were launching the rockets were free-lancers??

Your ideas?

Nu?

Palestinian Missiles (1993)

1993 Dry Bones cartoon - Palestinian rocket attacks on Israel and the Israeli response.15 years later and now we're being hit by Palestinian missiles from Gaza. Once again our citizens hide in bomb shelters. Once again we hit back from the air. Once again the world only responds to our responses. Once again...

The Game In Gaza

Gaza missilesGaza terrorists are playing a dangerous (and dumb) game. Hamas had a "work accident" in Gaza so the "resistance movement" let loose with a barrage of Qassam missiles. Israel responded forcefully and so Hamas "called off" their missile attacks.

Gaza Resistance

dry Bones Cartoon - rocket attack.Gaza attacks Israel. Israel was treated, over the weekend, to a terrifying barrage of 40 rockets fired from Gaza at the small Negev town of Sderot. Hamas, the Islamic "resistance" movement, took full credit for the rain of Qassam missiles. Post-pullout Hamas rocket attacks on Israel were predicted but largely unreported. In attempts to be "even handed" the Palestinian attack was widely reported in the world press only as a "cycle of violence" story or as a "Hamas Ends Military Operations" story after Israeli retaliation. Sad.
