Land Day (1999)

Dry Bones
September 09, 1999

(1999) Dry Bones cartoon: Land day, anti-Zionism, Arabs, Israel, Chemical Warfare, Holy War, jihad,
Today's Golden Oldie is from 1999.

The latest news out of the formerly moderate state of Morocco now in the throes of Arab Spring:

Israeli flags burnt in Morocco rally
Organizers claim 100,000 people took part in Land Day rally in Rabat, protested participation of Israeli diplomat in EUROMED meeting. David Saranga taken out back door.

Several days prior to the Global March to Jerusalem, thousands of Moroccans took part in a mass rally in Rabat "in support of Jerusalem." Israeli diplomat David Saranga, who was in the city for a conference, was taken out of the building through a side door as demonstrators protested his presence there, Yedioth Ahronoth reported Monday. Palestinian flags were flown and Israeli flags were burned during the march.
A Moroccan Islamic organization that organized the march claimed that 100,000 participated in the rally.
"The people want to free al-Aqsa," the protesters chanted. "A million martyrs are going to Jerusalem."

Iran, Israel, and History

Dry Bones cartoon: Iran, Israel, Holy War, War, Terrorism, Ahmadinejad, Shi'ite, Islamists, Islamism,
I find the use of Mr. History to be comforting.

It's because he's looking back at our problems after they're over. In our history.

So the question I'd ask is: "Did you find the cartoon comforting? funny? depressing?"

Nu?

Unfair

Dry Bones cartoon: Iran, Holy War, War, Israel, Assassination, Ahmadinejad, Computer Virus, Nukes, Technology
Not only don't we fight fair, but neither does the Iranian government!

The Iranians are claiming that the CIA and British intelligence" did it, instead of our guys! According to Russia Today:

Iran ‘has evidence’ CIA masterminded nuke scientist murder

"Iran has sent two “letters of condemnation” in the wake of Wednesday’s killing of yet another Iranian nuclear scientist. Tehran is demanding a response from Washington and London for the attack, which was “guided” by the CIA and “assisted” by MI6.

We have reliable documents and evidence that this terrorist act was planned, guided and supported by the CIA," the Iranian foreign ministry said in a rare letter handed to the Swiss ambassador in Tehran, according to state television.

The Swiss Embassy has represented the USA in Iran since ties between the two countries were severed shortly after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Another letter was sent to the British Embassy, claiming the British Foreign Intelligence Service, MI6, aided the CIA-led operation. The letter notes that the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists "started exactly after the British official John Sawers declared the beginning of intelligence operations against Iran," as quoted by the official Iranian Republic News Agency."-more

Do you think that's fair?

TV (1991)

(1991) Dry Bones cartoon: TV coverage of the world.
Today's cartoon is from January 13, 1991.
We're continuing our review of the days leading up to the first Gulf War.

Five days after this cartoon was published, SCUD missiles would hit Israel and the world would be watching on TV! We in Israel would also be watching, but we would be wearing our gas masks, as would TV reporters on the scene.

To see the TV broadcast we would see on January 18, 1991 click on the image below of Martin Fletcher reporting from Tel Aviv:
