Jerusalem Day 2015

Today's is a "Two in One" cartoon.
May 17, 2015 is Jerusalem Day, and just a few days ago the Pope "recognized" the "State of Palestine".
According to the International Business Times:

"As the Islamic State group expands its reach into Libya, the group also known as ISIS sits on the doorstep of a nation that has one of the largest Muslim populations in Europe: Italy. The militant group threatened to seize Rome in a video released this week" -more

Jerusalem (1982)

Today's Golden Oldie is a Dry Bones cartoon I did 28 years ago in 1982.

Tonight is erev Yom Yerushalayim, the eve of Jerusalem Day, which marks the happy day in 1967 when Jerusalem was liberated and thus became open to all faiths. It reminds us of the Double Standard exhibited by a world that is not bothered by the Saudi closing of the "Holy City" of Mecca to all non-Muslims.

Jerusalem (1973)

Today's Golden Oldie is from 1973.

It was a cartoon that I did thirty six years ago! I'm posting it because today Israel is officially celebrating Jerusalem Day! Back in 1973 this cartoon was a light joke that made folks chuckle. These days it reads like a fundamentalist manifesto.
