As we settle in to the week long holiday, we see and feel the winter that is approaching. At least, here in Israel, the holidays are very tied to the seasons and it is strange how sharply the holidays delineate the seasonal changes of nature. 

We gather in the warmth of our culture, and and unfortunately, the storm clouds seem to be always brewing.

Succot starts tomorrow evening

 Dry Bones Golden Oldies in the memory of Yaakov Kirschen by Sali, the LSW.

The holiday of Succot starts tommorrow, Monday, night. Here is a cartoon for Succot from 2006. We are all hoping that this holiday will see our hostages coming home. Meanwhile, we wait.

Also, Carin M Smilk from the JNS just published a really nice last interview with Yaakov. She came to visit him and did the interview 2 weeks before he passed away. It also has a lot of photos. Here is a link to the article at JNS.
