The Dry Bones Academy of Cartoon Advocacy and Activism is beginning to take shape. As you probably know it will train and empower a new generation of students to survive and combat the antisemitic and anti-western forces that have bullied their way to control Western campuses with lies, libels, and Boycott, Divest, and Sanction propaganda. We wanted to let you know what kind of progress we’ve been making. The academy team is hard at work. The team includes Brian the tech guy, Sali, the LSW (Long Suffering Wife) and me, the guy who has been writing and drawing the award-winning daily Dry Bones cartoons non-stop since January 1973. Because the academy is online, students from around the world will be able to sit across the table from me as I teach them my tips, tricks, strategies, and secrets. We’ve decided that the table I'll be seated at will be our dining room table, behind which we'd want to hang a cartoon backdrop.

“We are at war,” says Yaakov Kirschen, the man behind the popular Dry Bones comic strip. The battle lines of this war, he says, are clearly drawn. In contemporary society, according to Kirschen, combat is no longer confined to traditional warfare and tactics. The advance of modern technology brings with it a host of unchartered fronts of attack—all of which require fortification and defense. Take electronic media for example. The rapidly increasing popularity of social media and instant messaging means that the battle for public opinion is won and lost on the internet. And cartoons have become a propaganda weapon of choice—especially when it comes to launching an attack on the existence, values and culture of Israel, the United States and Western society as a whole.Cartoons have become one of the most important means of communication in today’s society, says Kirschen. The recent massacre at French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, arguably supports this notion. Controversial cartoons ribbing Muhammad are widely believed to have been the motivating factor behind the attack, thus illustrating the strong emotional response that images can evoke.Recent years have seen an alarming increase in the volume and venom of political cartoons being wielded as a weapon of attack against Judeo–Christian values and Western society. A simple Google search yields countless pages dedicated to anti-American and anti-Semitic imagery. The graphics typically pitch a bloodthirsty, evil and overpowering US–Jewish coalition against a tiny, peace-loving and downtrodden few. It is a growing market with a rapidly increasing audience. Every day cartoons of this nature flood the electronic media. Kirschen is not taking the assault lying down. His counter offensive comes in the form of the Dry Bones Academy of Cartoon Advocacy and Activism. The online academy’s strategy is simple, he says. “As a 20th-century cartoonist, I want to train a generation of 21st-century cartoonists in the art, science and techniques of being activists and advocates—to use their cartoons to spread Judeo–Christian values, to fight for who we are and what we believe.” Kirschen’s aim is for cartoonists to use their pens as powerful weapons to curb the flood of radical anti-Judeo-Christian rhetoric. “The enemy we face is a group of people whose aim is to subject the whole world to their god, belief and culture,” he says. “And in the process, they will destroy anything that does not conform or subjugate.” It is in this area that Kirschen wants to raise up an army of artists to draw on behalf of human rights and freedom of expression. Cartoonists, he believes, are ideally positioned to do this job. “They should be fighting for Western rights, culture and values. If Yazidis or Nigerian Christians are being slaughtered, they should condemn it. And they should speak out forcefully. They should see themselves as warriors.” The power of cartoons, says Kirschen, lies in their unique ability to creep past defensive radars. A message that uses the written word only often allows the reader to dismiss the author’s statement or simply ignore the article. “But if I make my case in the way of a cartoon, then people will laugh at it,” explains Kirschen. “At the point at which they laugh, for that moment they see the world through my eyes.” Kirschen’s Dry Bones comic strip has kept readers chuckling for nearly half a century. The name, he explains, refers to the vision of the Valley of Bones in Ezekiel 37. Since taking its first bow in The Jerusalem Post on 1 January 1973, the award-winning strip became a daily staple in Israeli life. Hailed as “a treasure of the Jewish people,” Dry Bones has been reprinted and quoted internationally in the likes of the New York Times, the Times of London, Los Angeles Times, News Week, Time Magazine and Forbes.Now, according to Kirschen, the time has come for him to pass the baton to the next generation of talented artists. “Before I go I want to teach cartoonists the lessons I have learned in more than 40 years of how to do it.”“We are not going to teach people how to draw, but rather show them what the goal of their drawings is,” explains Kirschen. “It is to do something that will present the truth to someone who does not want to see the truth. Michael Oren Slams New York Times’ Anti-Israel ‘Lunacy’ In New Book
Israel’s former ambassador to the United States says there wasn’t enough time in the day to debunk all the anti-Israel “lunacy” published in The New York Times — so he just stopped trying.Michael Oren, the widely respected historian who served as Israeli ambassador to the U.S. from 2009 to 2012, blasts The New York Times in his soon-to-be released book, “Ally: My Journey Across the American-Israeli Divide.”“Most malicious was the op-ed page of The New York Times, once revered as an interface of ideas, now sadly reduced to a sounding board for only one, which often excluded Israel’s legitimacy,” he writes. “The page’s contributors accused Israel of ethnic cleansing, brutal militarism, racism of several stripes, and even ‘pinkwashing’ — exploiting its liberal policy toward lesbians and gays to cover up its oppression of Palestinians.”“After a while, I simply gave up trying to debunk such lunacy,” he added. -more

"Pro-Israel activists headed home from Las Vegas last weekend resting easy that raising money to fight boycott and sanction campaigns on campus just got a lot easier.
Although checks have yet to be written, deep-pocketed donors like summit organizer Sheldon Adelson and Haim Saban pledged tens of millions to their cause.
“You work together and we will raise you the money,” promised Israeli-American businessman Adam Milstein following the conference for Israel activists that took place there over the weekend. “You no longer have to worry about financing and fundraising. You just need to be united.”
Milstein, a California real estate developer, who was among the key organizers of the first Campus Maccabees Summit, as the gathering dubbed itself, made his comments to Boaz Bismuth of Israel Hayom, an Israeli daily owned by casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, the host of the closed-doors Vegas summit, which took place at Adelson’s own Venetian hotel. Israel Hayom was the only media outlet granted access to the meeting, which was otherwise closed to press coverage.Participants, true to the maxim that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, declined to discuss any financial pledges made during the summit in Sin City. But based on the organizers’ own guidelines, it is clear that tens of millions of dollars were raised to combat campus campaigns to boycott, divest from and sanction Israel — or BDS, as the movement is known.Adelson and his fellow conference organizers limited participation in the event to donors willing to pledge at least $1 million over the next two years. With some 20 donors taking part at the meeting, the total dollar amount raised is estimated to be at least $20 million. A Jewish communal leader who did not attend the meeting but who spoke to the organizers said that, in fact, the overall funding goal for Adelson’s Campus Maccabees was $50 million."-more

The jihadi girls who went to Syria weren’t just radicalised by Isis — they were groomed
"Around 60 women and girls are estimated to have left the UK to join Isis so far. The latest female recruits are three girls from Bethnal Green: Kadiza Sultana, Amira Abase and Shamima Begum. Responding to their departure, some voices in the media have argued that we should show no sympathy to them, and instead to just “let them go”, despite their age and naivety. Such an argument ignores two points. First, it ignores the fact that we are not talking about adults – Shamima Begum is just 15-years-old, the same age as Yusra Hussein, who fled in October. But it also shows a complete lack of understanding of the actual process employed by Isis in targeting girls. Isis’ success at recruiting females to their cause cannot be downplayed. Their propaganda is powerful. Using extremist theology and social media, they target young girls with the hope of persuading them to help build their so-called “state.” Its media outlet Al-Zawra, for example, is aimed specifically at women and girls. It romanticises the notion of the jihadi fighter seeking the ultimate goal of martyrdom, and sells the role of a wife to a martyr as the next best thing." -more
