Happy Holiday of Simhat Torah
Happy Simhat Torah! The holiday starts this evening, Friday, Oct. 2nd. It is the last day of Sukkot and celebrates the receiving of the Torah from God. In synagogues, it is traditional for people take out the Torah scrolls from behind the curtains and dance with them.
Happy Holiday! and also Shabbat Shalom.
In Israel, we are also celebrating the miracle of the safe return of the almost 180 people from the Flydubai plane and the heroism of the passengers. Also, here is a small correction to my post from yesterday. It was a Flydubai plane that returned all the passengers to Israel, not El Al. Saudi Arabia, although they treated the passengers very well, did not want an El Al plane to land since we do not have diplomatic relations with them.
