A Sukkot Miracle

Fitting for this holiday, yesterday we witnessed a miracle tale of airline pilots, heroes, and bravery.

Here is the amazing story:

Captain Smit Machchhar an Indian pilot for Flydubai, after being repeatedly stabbed by his Omani co-pilot, managed to send an international distress signal and to unlock the cockpit door so that help could get inside. Two Israelis seated near the front fought and subdued the stabber, and one grabbed the controls and managed to bring the plane out of a steep dive, and then roused two Flyemerati pilots who were sitting further back, to come and fly the plane for a safe emergency landing in Saudi. The badly wounded pilot was saved by emergency treatment from an Israeli dentist who was on the plane. And the plane then landed safely in Saudi Arabia where passengers were given medical treatment, and returned to Israel on an El Al plane.

We don't know the reason for the attack, whether it was terrorism, or a suicide attempt, or something else.

Here is a Sukkot Dry Bones Cartoon from 2009 as we dream of Peace.
