The Optimism of Youth

If you think that the dimwit in today's cartoon is Alfred E. Newman from Mad Magazine, you'd be wrong. Harvey Kurtzman, a cartoonist, and the original editor and creator of Mad first spotted the image on a postcard pinned to the office bulletin board of the editor of Ballantine Books . The image had, for years been used on comic postcards. In 1965 Mad was sued for copyright infringement by the widow of cartoonist Harry Spencer Stuff. She claimed it was a copy of Stuff’s caricature “The Original Optimist,” also known as “Me-worry?”, which he had copyrighted in 1914.
Mad Magazine argued that it had copied the picture from various materials dating back to 1911 and won the case.* * * I and my LSW (Long Suffering Wife) are in need of financial help.
Unfortunately there's no one we can sue for anything.

The Korean Dragon

Another dragon that threatens the world?

The Asian dragon is different than the European version. It appears in various Asian mythologies. Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, and others. The Korean Dragon is a kind of bearded serpent which is shown holding powerful magical orbs in its four-toed claws. I figure that today’s North Korean Dragon’s four-toed claws are clutching nukes!

The Bad Seed

In 2013 Kim Jong Un ordered the brutal execution of his uncle General Jang Song-thaek on charges of corruption. He had his uncle blown to pieces by an anti-aircraft cannon and driven over by tanks before his scattered remains were burnt with a flamethrower.

When his wife, King Jong-Un’s aunt — Kim Kyong-hui — protested, she was poisoned.

All remaining members of her family (Jong-Un’s cousins) were shot dead, including those who were ambassadors to Malaysia and Cuba.
And now the murder, earlier this week, of Jong Un's eldest brother, Kim Jong-Nam,  

BTW, The Bad Seed was a shocking 1956 American horror-thriller movie about a violent evil eight year-old child
