Friends in Need

"A friend in need is a friend indeed" goes the old saying. It means that when you are in trouble and needy is when you find out who is really a friend. So does the absence of support for Israel from our new Abrahamic friends show that they aren't really our friends? Or does it just show what cowards they are?
