You likely will only have him for a single term, and he is now looked at as far worse than Carter.

Far better that then to become a spy for Israel.
A country that cannot recognize its friends and distinguish them from its enemies will soon have no friends and a lot more enemies, eager to take their cut of the weak horse. Maybe some Americans should not become shills for Israel's Muslim enemies, who are also enemies of the US. Far better that such people should leave the US then to become a shill for America's enemies.
Alliances should always based on a cold calculation of the country's interests - not because of any so called "romance".
Emotions have no place in foreign affairs.
In 2008 Obama was elected to among other things set Foreign Policy.
I voted for the other guy.
I lost.
Until he is no longer President he gets to set our foreign policy. And we need to support that.
That doesn't mean that I won't in a domestic forum advocate a different foreign policy in regards to Israel during the the 2012 elections, but it does mean that right now I have to respect US policy as it currently stands.
Right now the US is Israel's enemy. Right now in 2010 Israel is my enemy.
Let the bible quotes begin because that seems to be all that the "putting Israel above the US" crowd in the US has.
They are betrayers of their own US citizenship. Because in the end US citizens need to recognize that it's our country right or wrong.
There are those who say "Israel can't survive without the help of Europe and the US",,,, But can Europe or the US survive if they allow `Israel to fall?
Well, yes, America can survive without Israel. In fact it would be much easier because we wouldn't have to give all that foreign aid.
That said I do hope that despite the odds Israel survives. But they are going to have to do it without the United States.

do you mean the billions of dollars of foreign aid to oil rich Saudi Arabia and other oil rich countries? It's never paid back and never goes to help the poor. Israel gets LOANS from the US and pays back with INTEREST, and the money is used to improve life for ALL citizens.
There are too many half truths and outright LIES told about what happens in Israel. Remember, all nations who have tried to harm the Jews or remove the Jews from the land of Abraham, Isac and Jacob-(ISRAEL), have vanished from the face of the earth... No Egyptians only arabs in Egypt now, The Persians were conquered and no longer exist,,, only arabs in what was once Greek Syria. Those in ROME are decended from the north African conquers... and Europe is going the same way, especially Germany. Look at history, FOOLS, and don't repeat it ! The nation of ISRAEL keeps coming back to her land.

Even JFK spent all is energy trying to woo Nasser until he realized that he was untrustworthy. Johnson tried but was too bogged down inVietnam to divert energy to Israel. Israel has been an enormous asset to the U.S. The Arab addiction to violence and the Israeli absolute determination to survive are not understood by the West. What a shame. Barack Obama, on this issue is behaving as a petulant child, because he refuses to recognize that he does not understand the importance of Israel to the West.
All these ardent American "patriots" should realize that we don't NEED Bible verses to prove the case for a/ Israel's vital importance to the US, not to mention the rest of the world (we have history to prove that), and b/ the consequences for those who denigrate Israel. (And again, history is the proof.)
And to the guy who asked about Germany and noted that "the government does not act anti-Israel", I would advise you to poll Germans on the ground. There is more than one way to "act anti-Israel", and as we see from these comments, the anti-Israel bias runs among the population too.
The Left of the US and Israel (and probably elsewhere) has a very strange habit of appeasing enemies and attacking friends, and/or throwing them under the bus. Examples are numerous.
Since Obama is on the Left and since he is attacking Israel while appeasing the Muslim world, that means that Israel is the US' friend.
Every American President who followed Harry Truman was, and is, insane.
The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome.
Every President has done exactly the same thing as his predecessor in regard to Israel yet has expected a different outcome.
If the Americans want to help fix the problem that exists between Israel and the Arabs they should stop helping. The Americans have proved to be the greatest impediment to peace.
Let's hope that it is two birds with one stone. The revelation is that Hillary Clinton has been and apparently still is an anti-semite of the worst order. She idolized and supported Arafat in the 90's and wouldn't get out of her car to visit a high ranking gov't. official because he had a menorah on his door given to him by his Jewish dad to remind him that he is part Jewish. My only question is 'Who will be the next to con the Jews to vote for him/her?' Isn't it time we smartened up?

I'm not really getting all of the overemotional responses here. Hopefully, what you love about your country are the values on which it was founded i.e. democracy, individualism,and every man's god given right to live unoppressed by others. If you have some other unexplainable connection to your country then you're just a fascist. If you are a real American patriot perhaps you should learn a bit about our values, protect them, and hold those who trample on them responsible. should Israeli's also put U.S. of A. interests above the interests of Israel? Look at history, Rome also tried to appease the barbarians and let them in the gate. The US is todays Rome,,, and all empires and those that seek world domination fall. We, the decendants of the line of Abraham Issac and Jacob(Israel) keep coming back. We only seek one small piece of land, not dominion over the whole world. Judaism teaches that each person must be allowed to decide for themselves. So, why shouldn't we want our leaders to do the same for our country?
brian, if I was an american citizen, I would not under any reason work against a democracy while helping dictatorial countries trying to destroy that democracy. Perhaps the democracies of the world should open a new United Democratic Nations and put it in Dubia,, just to be spitefull of the undemicratic UN that is now in new york. that'll teach 'em HA!!!

If Israel didn't exist, where do you think that foreign aid would go Brian? Not to any cause you support, you can be certain of that.
In addition, Israel is the only thing holding back the Islamic hordes from attacking everything you hold dear.

Steven Decatur, an American Naval hero, was a patriot fighting the English. His remark was designed to prove his loyalty to the Commander in Chief at that time. He had no idea his toast would be misread and misunderstood by following generations.
The real problem with it, of course, is that it implies Americans should slavishly obey the CIC's orders and requests. What it amounts to is a failure to grasp that America, founded by Americans, is currently obliged to question any and all policies its leaders suggest.
Revolutionaries do that today. I venture to say that America still has revolutionaries as well as the sheeple we hear from.
