Husham al-Hussainy

Back when I was a kid in Brooklyn, one of my favorite newspaper comic strip heroes was Dick Tracy.

In our Sunday newspaper's "funny pages" supplement Dick Tracy was a full-page feature. Tracy's enemies were a bizarre set of weird characters, a few that I remember were Flat Top, Prune Face, and Mumbles.

At the top of the cartoon page, above that Sunday's exciting comic strip adventure, was a small panel called "Crime Stoppers." These crime-fighting tips made me feel like I was part of the fight against evil-doers.

Seventy years have slipped by since I was a 11 year-old boy in Brooklyn reading Dick Tracy.

I'm now an 81 year-old cartoonist in Israel watching the outrageous and criminal assault on our civilization by a bizarre set of weird villains.

So I've decided to maybe start a feature like Dick Tracy's Crime Stoppers. I call it Dry Bones' Know your Foe. It'll focus on the grotesque set of weird characters we need to stop. The first is a Muslim cleric known as Imam Husham al-Hussainy.
