His 10th Anniversary

"President" Abbas assumed office exactly 10 years ago today, on May 8 2005.
He had been elected to serve a 4-year term.
But the West continues to consider Mahmoud Abbas to be the Palestinian President.
Wikipedia ( which identifies Abbas as "the President of the State of Palestine" ) explains:
