Condemnation:
Rav Elyashiv Joins Rav Shteinman in Condemning Letter Forbidding the Rental of Homes to Arabs
"Two municipal chief rabbis decided on Thursday to remove their signatures from a religious ruling forbidding Israeli Jews from renting homes to gentiles. ...The attorney general’s office stated today that it would look into possible criminal aspects of a religious ruling to forbid renting homes to gentiles signed by a number of leading rabbis....Earlier on Thursday, the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial decried the rabbis’ letter, deeming it a “severe blow to the values of our lives as Jews and human beings in a democratic state.” -more

Pal. Authority: Death Penalty for Selling Land to Jews
Monday, September 20, 2010

"JERUSALEM, Israel - Israel's peace partner reaffirmed on Sunday that Palestinians convicted of selling land to Jews would face the death penalty for "high treason."

PA officials claim the death penalty deters Arabs from selling land to Jews living in Judea and Samaria, which they envision free of Jewish residents in a future Palestinian state." -more

BS"D It is shameful that our Rabbis must apologize for telling Jews to obey the Torah. Even if not "officially" condemned, I hope that whenever we find a Jew selling/renting to a non-Jew here, that they are put under de facto cherem. A Jew wanting to buy in Jordan is buying real estate. A gentile buying in Israel - including Yehuda and Shomron - is forbidden. It is not a democracy when it comes to G-d. He said it is forbidden - not any particular Rabbi.

Let us not even mention that Abbas has said this past week that there is no room in Palestine(which to them includes Israel)for even one Israeli. The world has not condemned that statement and I believe Israel should state that there is no room in Israel for even one Arab (many who identify themselves as Palestinians with Israeli citizenship.
Bones your cartoon had your man listening to the silence. How would you draw the outbursts at an Israeli statement such as the one mentioned.? I believe our computers would explode/

Gentiles, ie Christians, are for the most part our friends and our supporters in our defense against radical Muslims. Democratic values must be respected if WE are to be "a light among nations" and we must give our "gentile" cousins the respect we wish from them.

On the other hand, Muslims have loudly and clearly ststed their wishes for Israel and Jews, and Israel should reciprocate their intentions, at least inasmuch as certain freedoms within Israel are concerned.

Islamists are an existential threat to Israel. Christians are not. There's a difference and they must be treated differently.

The ruling should have stated no sale or rental to Muslims or anyone declaring themselves an enemy of the Jews.
There have been - and still are - many riteous gentiles. Muslims, on the other hand, only consider hatred of the Jews as being riteous.
Islam has no place in Israel and if the rest of the world would wake up, they would realize that radical Islam is out to destroy everything that can be defined as humanitarian. Radical Islam wants to rule the world under a feudal system that would deny all basic freedoms.
Wake up world!!

It is Jews that need to wake up. The world is doing just what it wants to happen. Read Kahane. All of your answers are there.

The conflict is not between Jews and Xtians. It is between Judaism and Hellenism. A "Jewish state of Israel" is a myth until the Hellenistic Arabs are no longer there. Then, a Jewish state ran under Jewish Halacha law will be a true "Jewish state of Israel".

Israel is not a state under Halacha. Given that more than 80% of the Knesset are members of parties who would not support Israel becoming such a state the chance of this happening in the foreseeable future is nil.

Whatever their intentions the rabbis making this stand have handed ammunition to Israel's enemies; weakened the support of Israel's friends and increased disrespect for Judaism hatred between Jews in Israel.

I can't see any positives by their stand.
Bones' pointing to Arab hypocrisy is just damage control.

Damage is NOT being controled on the ground. Only by cartoons and the media to no avail. Since you know what WILL NOT work, post here what WILL WORK!

I'm assuming the Anonymous question was directed at me. My comment was in no way an attack on Dry Bones whom I have had the pleasure of meeting and whose cartoons (with permission) improve my website (Five Minutes for Israel http://5mfi.com.

I believe and that is the philosophy of my blog (excuse the immodesty in linking to it here)that every little bit helps and the Dry Bones series of cartoons have been extremely useful in the Public Diplomacy War. I don't have a solution to the Israel/Palestinian/Arab/Muslim conflict nor Global Warming [or cooling :-(] or obesity or cancer, just keep fighting. Where necessary, do damage control.

On the this particular issue I do believe that with application and goodwill some sort of solution can be found. The root of the problem is overcrowding in the Arab parts of Yafo combined with gentrification and the movement of Jews into 'Arab' Yafo. The movement of Arabs into the adjoining suburb of Bat Yam with its relatively more affordable rents is inevitable. Without that background the rabbi's declarations would have no meaning because the Arabs, with few exceptions, don't want to live next door to us, either.

This is a domestic issue, pressure has been building for years and no one can claim an eventual clash is a surprise. But because it is a domestic issue the Knesset, together with the city councils of Bat Yam and Tel Aviv-Yafo should be able to solve it without my help.

If you notice, the recurring theme of posts here is bewilderment. "How can Arabs kill Jews and get away with it?", Why doesn't the IDF go into Gaza and wipe out these terrorists?"...etc...etc. Read Kahane, ZT"L. He had the answer to all of these questions.

I liked the "Dear World" letter from Rav Kahane also a video on youtube "1920 The day Arabs discovered Palestine" The American Indians couldn't get together to fight their European invaders..so they lost. You Jewish people can't seem to get together either,.. but somehow you keep winning.. You must be getting outside help! :)

Shalom, dovie in hiding.
