Nakba (2006)

Okay so a cartoon from just two years ago is NOT a Golden Oldie. It was posted in 2006. But again this year, the Palestinians celebrated Nakba (the "look at us, we're victims" holiday) that is held on every Israeli Independence Day. They did so in interviews, demonstrations, newspaper pieces, and of course, by a major missile attack launched against us from Hamas-run Gaza. Well, I've decided to join the annual celebrations. I plan to run this cartoon every year to mark Nakba, the catastrophe that the Palestinians continue to create for themselves.Your thoughts?

In a big full page add in a Swedish newspaper, a slew of celebrities and would be celebrities commemorate the nakba and make a point that to solve the crisis Israel needs to withdraw... no mention of the opportunities the Palestinians had to create a state... and no mention of the fact that the Hamas and Hizzbolla are making it clear that Israel should not retreat, that retreat only brings more attacks...
Golden Oldie or not, in your usual Tuesday Thursday "blasts from the past" (unfortunate puns not intended) still topical in describing the situation.
The Arabs love to blame Israel for all of their woes - many of which the Arabs inflicted upon themselves !!
Since they spend all their time blaming others for their self-inflicted problems they will no doubt have many more such catastrophes to "celebrate" in the future.
Personally, I think that Israel should go on PR offensive. It has to tell the whole world what Nakba really signifies in retrospect. And what it does signify is the inability of 6 Arab armies to successfully invade and take over the newly declared state of Israel and kill as many Jews as they wished. One need only look at the genocidal speeches given at the time in the Muslim world to see reality as it existed back then.
Nothing sums up Nakba better! I think you can extend that cartoon year on year with a new row of Palestinian self-destruction.
Some ideas for 2009+ :
2009: the year we chose to lose an Iran-Syria war against Israel instead of peace alongside her.
2010: the year we chose to nuke ourselves rather than peace alongside Israel.
2011: the year we chose to start World War 3 instead of peace alongside Israel.
2012: the year we prayed for aliens to invade and eat our children...
Ad inpalestinium! The never-ending Nakba drones on...
Nakba celebrations are strictly PR events as the are celebrated on the English date, not the Muslim one.
