British Working Class Heroes

The Wall Street Journal says that working class voters:

. . . recoiled from the anti-Semitism that infected Labour on Mr. Corbyn’s watch. His left-wing hostility to Zionism bled into sympathy for anti-Israel terrorist groups, and examples of anti-Semitism among Labour members have skyrocketed while Labour leaders stalled investigations and discipline.

The error was to think traditional Labour voters could be bought off when what they really want after the Brexit referendum is respect. A common complaint about Mr. Corbyn is that he doesn’t share blue-collar values on matters such as patriotism. The anti-Semitism scandal showed he didn’t share their sense of decency. -more
