Sudden Tragedy (2003)

February 02, 2003
Today's Golden Oldie is ten years old. Here's the story"
"In 1997, Ilan Ramon became Israel’s first astronaut and was selected to be the only Payload Specialist during NASA Mission STS-107 aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia. He spent 15 days, 22 hours and 20 minutes in space conducting more than 80 experiments with his six crewmates. Upon re-entry to Earth’s atmosphere over Texas air space, the infamous Columbia shuttle exploded tragically on February 1, 2003 just 16 minutes before its scheduled landing time." -more

That was such a sad day. His memory is a blessing. May the Holy One pour out His comfort on his family and those who knew him.

It was a very sad day...I live in East Texas....I heard the sonic boom sound of the space ship destruction...the debris started falling a few miles further east of my home town...but to classify a freak act of nature as violence is a bit more than necessary...in fact it equalizes it with car bombs and human sacrifice of the Hezbollah and others...
In my view, by describing the unexpected and very tragic death in space of Ilan Ramon as an 'image of violence', Dry Bones engages in spin and demagoguery.
