Presidential Election Promises (1977)

June 14, 1977
I drew today's cartoon back in 1977 when Jimmy Carter's Presidential election promises were suddenly replaced by the deeds of Jimmy Carter's Presidency.

WHEEEEEEEEEEEE! That's a good one! Remember George W and his promises? This comes from JewishJournal.com
There is a great deal of ferver among the pro-Israel camp in reaction to Mitt’s verbal commitment to move the American Embassy from Tel Aviv. However, will Romney as a President move the American Embassy to Israel’s capital Jerusalem?
Don’t hold your breath.
A long line of presidential hopefuls from both parties have promised that when they are president they will move the embassy.
And a long line of presidents, including Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama have wavered and delayed the move to Jerusalem sighting the needs of “American interests.”
For example, the Associated Press reported in 2001:
The Bush administration said ... that while the president remains committed to starting a process to move the embassy to Jerusalem, which Israel considers its capital, the mission will stay put. During his campaign, Bush promised to move the embassy to Jerusalem, an act that would lend support to Israeli claims to the city as its undivided capital.
W. who is hailed as a great friend of Israel backed down. He didn’t want to upset the Saudis most likely, and other Arab nations.
SO............... (holding my breath)
Them dumb Yankees an't so dumb. ya can make all the promises (LIES) ya want (to get elected). Thats POLY-TICKS fer yu- stupid -
Put not your trust in princes, nor in any child of man : for there is no help in them
An other good analysis, Yachov. Is Obamanation channeling Jimbo?
Obamanation is a serial liar, and has a bad case of Projection, almost as bad as Axlerod.
yeah, keep on voting for demonrats. all demonrats are liars.they are not about social justice as they claim, they're all about absolute, corrupt power. wake up.
The calamity of the superstorm only shows the need for strong federal government capable of co-ordinating all phases of support from NASA satellites to predict the storms,to utilization of Coast Guard, National Guard, fire rescue and co-ordination with states and local governments. There will be plenty of opportunity for businesses to make lucrative business contracts for cleanup and rebuilding but with safeguards. Defund FEMA, Department of Energy, all environmental controls and leave it to private business to run things as suggested by Romney/Paul? How can any thinking person believe this is the solution?
Will Rogers had it right about Politics
• "I'm not a member of any organized political party….. I'm a Democrat."
• "Democrats never agree on anything, that's why they're Democrats. If they agreed with each other, they'd be Republicans."
• "There is only one redeeming thing about this whole election. It will be over soon, and let everybody pray that it's not a tie, for we couldn't go through with this thing again.
• And, when the votes are counted, let everybody, including the candidates, get into a good humor as quick as they got into a bad one.
• Both gangs have been bad sports, so see if at least one can't redeem themselves by offering no alibis, but cooperate with the winner, for no matter which one it is the poor fellow is going to need it.
thanks for sharing..
