March 10, 1987
Today's Golden Odie cartoon was published in the Jerusalem Post on March 10, 1987, after Jonathan Pollard had been sentenced. At the time of this posting we're waiting to see if Shimon Peres can get President Obama to free Jonathan from his years of cruel and unusual punishment. Please click for some of my previous Pollard cartoons. Please click for the Facts of the Pollard Case.

Good luck with that! Barry Hyssein is almost as anti-Israel and anti-Semitic as he is anti-American!!
Nailed it as usual.
Possibly Peres is one of the "necks" you mention?
Peres' refusing to accept the award last night from Obama, should Pollard not be released, would have put my mind somewhat at ease reagrding this particular question.
Pollard was a spy for Israel - OK.
Was his crime so bad that he should be incarcerated for life? Compare his treatment with other American spies that betrayed their country.
There are two explanations:
1. Pollard did more harm than we're allowed to know (why the mystery?)
2. It's because he's a Jew.
Are you sure you drew this in 1987? Nothing changed.
