Developments in the Iran "situation" seem to be moving quickly."How does an American President campaigning for reelection handle the snowballing Iranian threat?" is a question that all of the players are assessing, and that includes the Iranians, the Saudis, the Israelis, and the campaigning President himself.

Bones, you ask how does an American president campaigning for reelection handle the snowballing Iranian threat, well, as long as he blames Israel for EveryThing, he will be lauded by the rest of the world, and will do well! (Man A: the bikers are the source of all the world's problems. Man B: why the bikers? Man A: why the Jews?)
Those of us here in America who know the truth love all Israelis, myself included. G-d bless and keep every on of you and I pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
A politician seeking election as President either handles Iran's threats with integrity or he doesn't. He faces the truth-- or he obfuscates it. He plays politics-- or he tells the facts whether we want to hear them or not. It's not so much the American president to be concerned about as the American people-- we elect the President we deserve in most cases.
Has America become full of impatient sleeping consumers seeking entertainment-- or are we still a nation which honors those who stood up against fascism-- and do we have the courage still to do that ourselves? I hope and pray the latter.
Just like Balaam, America continues to come to the crossroads and to the place of making a choice. Do we side with G-d and bless the Jewish people? Or do we speak out of both sides of our mouth for our own (perceived) profit?
In the end, nations will rise and fall, but Israel will remain long after Ahmadinejad is dust in the wind.
G-d says so in Jeremiah 31
35This is what the L-rd says,
He who appoints the sun to shine by day,who decrees the moon and stars

Obummer can't decide what to do about Iran.
He's hoping that Israel will force America to step in and claim the credit for ridding the world of Ahmadinejad.
The current President sticks his head in the sand and declares he can see no threat but he will deal with the threat he doesn't acknowledge by bringing them a cake Michelle ordered someone to bake.
Sorry Beseder. The USA did not stand up against fascism. While Britain stood alone it made money out of WW2. It was Hitler who declared war on the USA so it didn't have much choice. Until that day the German plant of the Ford Co. of Detroit supplied the German army with trucks and they welcomed the makers of the V2 rockets which killed so many British civilians, and which were made at Dora in the Harz mountains where 20,000 slave labourers were killed, with open arms, known as the "paperclip conspiracy".

While you are probably right that individuals saw an opportunity and chose profiteering, D-Day and those who died liberating Europe and fighting in the Pacific-- along with the continuing Holocaust Education that is part of the curriculum in every middle and high school in America-- show that one of the strong American values from those years was to stand up against fascism. I hope that courage and moral integrity is still there-- and that the profiteers are less numerous than before. There are many American vets who gave their lives or other body parts to take down Hitler and Hirohito.
May the tribe of those who fight terrorism-- whether individual or state-sponsored-- increase.
