Christian Communities

CAMERA (The Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America) has just compiled a collection of reports on the ethnic cleansing of Middle East Christians. Here's a sample:
"Priest Wasseem Sabeeh was halfway through Sunday Mass, in Our Lady of Salvation in Baghdad, when an explosion shook the church. Suddenly men with guns yelling Islamic prayers burst into the church. They fired at the priests, congregants, even murals of Mary and the saints. Some parishioners screamed and ran out. Sabeeh, 27, and another priest, Thaer Saadallah, 32, hastily directed dozens of others into a room near the altar, then turned to plead with the men in suicide vests to stop the killing. They shot Sabeeh at point-blank range, then shot Saddallah in the face. He fell on the steps of the altar, his vestments stained with blood."For further info on this under-reported Islamism please click on this recently published CAMERA report/

I am unsubscribing. Not for any of the reasons in your list, but because every cartoon is ironic and depressing. Very occasionally they make me laugh, but mostly they just remind me of Israel's problems. I already avoid listening to the news too often because of that. I need positive messages in my life right now and this isn't it.
Maybe the Christians are only folling the scripture which says: Turn the other cheek.
What would the pope care? He's not a Christian. He's a Catholic nazi.
Had to re-read the cartoon three times to GET IT.
Would have been clearer if in the last frame it said
THAT THE ONE EXCELTION IS ISRAEL
Shabbat Shalom

JoRehovot may be right for him, but cartoons can be funny as well as serious.
The humor in this Christian cartoon is that there are cardinals, priests and members of the Pope's staff especially in Moslem countries who have proclaimed that the reason Christians are leaving these lands is because of Israel.Just this month this claim was carried in most world media. The only country in the middle east with a growing Christian community is of course Israel. Hope that Jo will see the sad humor in that fact. Stay subscribed Jo and if you are really bothered, and understandabl so, read only the real funny cartoons.
I hope the Pope will realize how his total silence and failure to answer the accusations, is VERY FUNNY>(strange)

The Vatican is not Christian. It is Catholic. It is very conforming to One World order, which is the opposite of what God planned for the world. In fact, The Catholic church many money out of God , but does not follow God.
I am Christian.
No one I know cares what the Pope thinks of Jews or Israel. He can mouth off all he wants. What he says or does is not going to change one thing in Israel.
Crikey, where did all the Catholic bashing come from? The last time I heard anti-Catholic bigotry like this it came from a Mormon.
Sorry to have to break the news to you, but Pope Benedict is not Satan. He is not Beelzebub. He is not Mephistopheles. He is not the reincarnation of Haman. He is not the reincarnation of Pharaoh. He is not a Nazi (actual Nazi beliefs are antithetical to Catholicism, which is one reason Hitler is reported to have planned to have the Pope hanged after Germany won the war).
We have enough enemies in the world who want to kill us all without gratuitously alienating others by false and crackpot insults.
The Pope matters not to Israel. Historically, all Popes are anti-Semitic. This is his job to try to win converts and their money. He has no effect on Israel but talk.
To JoRehovot:
I am sorry you seem to be going through bitter times. Cheer up some. It is going to be OK. Israel will always prevail. G-D is on our side.
I'm a friend of israel, I recognize Israel as a Jewish Country, I pray for yerushalyim's peace, Though I'm also a christian. Truly Israel can't be compared to other middle east countries where christians are persecuted, prosecuted and punished just out being what they are. I saw a lot of people in Israel going to church freely and unharmed. In spite of that there is a lot of discussion about how far Christian freedom should go and a there is lot of fear in people about proselytizing as a threat to jewish spiritual life. What I do disagree with is the punctual and specific discrimination against Christians compared to other faiths such as budhism, bahai, etc. People can actually believe in Budha and still be considered jews but they can't be considered jews if they believe in Jesus, they can be atheist and remain jews, I may try to understand the reason a jew can't believe in Jesus and I do respect such reasons but: Isn't atheism worst than jesus in a jewish perspective? I haven't seen haredim demostrating in front of an atheist house (Though they do proselytize and many abandon judaism to become atheist or agnostic) Why do you specifically ask new converts whether they believe in Jesus or not and avoid other religions? Those religious also destroy jewishness don't they?
To give a very short answer to the above comment. This is what Jews believe: Jesus was human. G-D cannot be human and a human cannot be G-D. Therefore Jesus cannot be G-D. G-d is eternal. G-d has always been and always will be. Jesus died. G-D cannot die. The complete answer to your question is much deeper than this, but this is the bottom line. Please do a search for "What Jews Beleive" and you will find a web site by a Rabbi Federow (I think that is correct). This web page will about sum it up about the difference between beliefs of Jews and Christans.
JoRehovot, Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. Zech 12:2 The fact that the Almighty has revealed these things in advance means that He has them under control. Sticking our head in the sand won't help, trusting Him will.
Billbit I am not talking about your reasons not to believe in Jesus, I know them and I already said I respect them, I think I explained myself about it. The problem I see is your specific fear towards Jesus compared to let's say Budha or atheism, you don't seem to bother so much about those other beliefs, and many jews manage to make aliyah while upholding them. It looks like the only other belief system that jews don't want among them is Christianity. The interview to new olim specifically questions wether a person believes in Jesus or not, I mean you actually have atheist jews passing your tests, a person who believes there is no G-d at all seems better to jews that a person who believes Jesus, they are both wrong according to current rabinic judaism, I know that. But, why do they make such a distinction?
Michael Lonie
Thank you.
I guess I do not know the answer to that. Maybe it has something to do with a "free" Aliyah that is paid for by Israel. There are a lot of Christians living in Israel. They got here somehow. Email the Israeli goverment and ask them. Surely you will get your answer, whether you agree with it or not.
To billbillt: Maybe to ask a rabbi would be more appropriate. It's obviously not a governmental issue but a religious one. Just as catholic antisemitism is. The rabbi thinks in terms of the Talmud, and Catholic antisemitism is based on Roman prejudice, not on the Bible.
To Anonymous's question as to why the the Xtians are singled out for special suspicion and opprobrium:
An ex-Xtian I knew, put it very very succinctly:
"The Xtians try to convert everything they see; and what they can't convert, they kill."
Obviously this is a gross exaggeration, isn't is?
It is easy enough to claim that the Inquisition was not carried out by real Xtians. We've heard that one before.
It is easy enough to claim that repeated massacres of Jewish communities in Europe down the ages was carried out by people who were not real Xtians. Been there too often.
It's easy enough to claim that the Europeans Xtian nations responsible for the Holocaust were not real Xtians.
Been there too. Were my grand parent murdered by angels? And wonder of wonders: The Commandant at Auschwitz had a Church built for the "staff" outside the camp - all nice Sunday church going Xtians.
Sorry Mr Anonymous, but I don't buy "your shtick".
Not only have more human beings been murdered, mutilated and exiled in the name of Jesus than any other single cause, but now the Xtians have found a new willing substitute in form of Islam.
Now those wonderful all-loving Xtians can now sit back, watch the fun (and even finance it), claiming piously "Our hands did not shed this blood ... "
Come on Mr Anonymous (and the rest of you Xtians)! Grow up!
The claim that The Son of G-d slid down into this world through the vagina of a human woman, a married woman, a Jewish married woman at that, does little credit to the
intelligence of those who make the claim, much less those who believe in it.
That this Son of G-d then slid out of this world on a cross is no less ridiculous.
So much for the One Intelligent Species on this planet.
And to Strorstand:
The Pope is a Xtian, Catholic or otherwise. He is not a Nazi. He may however have inherited something of the mentality. In that respect he is more dangerous than a self-proclaimed Nazi.
I thinks that Bones is more polite and considerate of that bunch of clowns in Rome, than they deserve.
FINALLY! Someone said what needed to be said!!
A blessing: May hashem bless and keep the Pope ...................
...........far away from us.
AMEN
Daniel is quite accurate about Xtian history, and large numbers are still trying to do their duty.
There is a sizable number of Xtians today who believe that Jews should be returned to our G-d given land and are supporting Israel financially and politically.
We also understand the underlying duty and hope of the same groups that Am Yisrael will become converts. The belief is that the second coming of the Xtian messaiah will happen.I am willing to accept the support and wait for our Meshiach who will join me in a minyan on the Shabbat. (it wont be Sunday)He will also want Kosher food.

The Xtian book of Revelation Chapter 12 says that Satan is behind all persecution of the Jewish people, referred to as a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, with a crown of twelve stars (one for each tribe)...And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, (water refers to nations of men) that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman..and swallowed up the flood...and the woman fled away into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of G-D, that they should feed her there..I am writing from that wilderness, North and South America, USA to be more exact. I thank G-D that the Jewish people were not wiped out by our common enemy, Satan, but he is still trying. No matter what you say, I will love Israel, My king said, "Salvation is of the Jews" My holy books say there is an elect in Israel even now (the faithful) I know many of you fear to read the Xtian scriptures, so I won't go on with more. There is a debate of who's a Jew and a silent debate of who's a "Xtian" Hint: It's not the followers of Satan. 'Nuf said I think.
You do not get it. As Jews we do not "fear" Jesus or the Xtian bible. They are not even part of or culture or lives. I have never even opened an Xtian bible and have zero interest in what could be written there. What is written there could not be true anyway.
The purpose of today's cartoon was to call attention to the destruction of ancient Christian communities across the Middle East by Islamist forces. It's sad that what it spawned was a pro and anti Christian debate.
Bones
To Yaakov:
And maybe the debate sparked by your cartoon underlies the very insanity it portrays?
That despite the rise of Islamo-fascism, we are still able to show a human face, even to our would be murderers.
Isn't it funny who "shows the other cheek" in this world?
The purpose of this cartoon in my mind was to show that cruelty, apartheid and murder and lies committed by Islamists Moslems and xtians is tolerated, while the imagined non tolerance in Israel by Jews is condemned.Bones , I believe knew what he was portraying.
If we have offended Xtian and Moslem feelings, I am sorry. They must become aware of what Israel and Jews have faced for so long. I hope they are uncomfortable with the facts.

Irving Poll sums this one up for me. I am finished on this one. A new one will be out soon.
Just believe on Christian learning...
IDIOT. Pleae quit posting to get hits on your spam web site!
billbillt, Thanks for proving my point. I take the entire Bible literally, I was told I make a "paper pope" out of the Torah, Tanach and, yes, New Testament, but so be it. We "Xtians" blew it by not paying more attention to what Jewish people believe, if we had we would have never bought the lie that Jews need Xtian blood to celebrate passover, at the same time the new Jewish "cult" of Xtianity was set adrift in a heathen Roman culture by its Jewish founders and it soon was predictably corrupted until it got to where we find it today. There are lots of "Xtians" who never open the bible either. I don't read the Talmud either, because I feel it is only opinion. I guess we are all prejudiced one way or another. But Jewish culture will always be part of my culture, not secular Jewish culture, but the biblical one. We are told to abstain from blood and things strangled or offered to idols, but I don't hear any of that preached. If you convert to Xtian, your parents will bury your cloths, If a Muslim converts, they bury him. I am closer to you than I am to the pope. You have not offended me, because I try to understand where you are coming from. The cartoon was great!
No offence taken or intended. G-D gives us free will to believe and do what we want. The Yetzer Tov and Yetzer Ra. This is what makes us in his image. To me, the hypocracy of Xtian religion stems from it's profession of belief in G-D and their supposed belief and following of H-S commandments as given to Moshe. Yet, they worship a dead human and a wooden cross. This is nothing more than pure idolatry and an abomination to G-D. They teach the Torah (their Old Testament) in stories. Yes, the Talmud can be considered as opinion. But, it is the opinion and interpretaion by learned Rabbis that spent their whole lives in the study of the Torah. It is no less an opinion than the sermon given by a preacher on Sunday. The sermon is his opinion.
Shalom from Israel
