This is Mr. Shuldig as he was thirty years ago, in 1976.
Early on I had established a rule of seven hairs in his mustache. 4 on one side, 3 on the other.
Back in those early days of Dry Bones I did not draw my characters with pupils in their eyes.
Looking at the 'toons now, the "no dots in his eyes" Shuldig has an annoying freaky look.This cartoon deals with our disturbing and ongoing habit of trying to fool ourselves into thinking that the glass is half full, when it is clearly completely empty. And we're still doing it... Thirty years later.
