P.O. (1973)

July 11, 1973
Today's Golden Oldie cartoon is from 1973. Thirty-nine years ago!! It was the first year of Dry Bones publication. ...And the Israeli Postal Service never really improved. It just got replaced by Fax machines, email, DHL, and Federal Express!

I remember the strike in '78 when you could see the moutain of mail bags in the PO. Of course it was last in first out wheh the strike was over. Yeah, mail 5 months old!
We've been friends for eons Yaakov but I've got to disagree with you on this one. I remember the Post Office as it was then -- but it's different today. Recently mailed 100+ invitations to our grandson's Bar Mitzvah to addresses all over the country and they were all delivered within one day ... no hassles.
Having recently moved from Raanana to a yishuv in the south near Gadera, we have discovered that the quality and speed of the postal service depends on where you live. In Raanana delivery was within a day, but here it takes 5 days!
