Spectator Sports 2011

The daily reversals on the Stock Market are serious business. They are signs of the economic crisis, a possible "double dip" recession or worse, the collapse of the Dollar, etc. . . . yes, there is much to say about the current situation of one day's sell-off panic and the next day's mini-boom. But at heart I'm a cartoonist, so the up down motion of the market reminded me of a tennis match. I couldn't resist, gave in to temptation, and drew today's cartoon. Superficial, but fun. .

The typical liberal response would be:
We'd be in an even bigger recession if it weren't for Obama!
Do you know how many jobs he's saved!!!!!!
Better than the stupid Teapublicants who made it worse!

This Liberal viewpoint, of course, ignores that Keynesian economics don't work one bit, and that S & P did the downgrade based on the failure to cut the debt down, rather than do what Obama wanted which was a clean raise in the ceiling.
The guy on the left looked a lot like my uncle Moish, but I am sure it is a coincidence (at least I hope so)..
This is only the beginning of the USA financial crisis. From here on it will be difficult to draw a carton using this subject that will be funny.
You should make a video of your presentation at the cinematheque for those who cannot attend.
