Old Age (1998)
Today's Golden Odie cartoon is from October 1998.
It's a cartoon that requires some explanation today.. John Glenn had been the first American to orbit the Earth. He had done it in 1962. Thirtysix years later, after a career as an American Senator, Glenn went on a second NASA flight. At age 77, on October 29, 1998, Glenn became the oldest person ever to go into space. He went on a shuttle mission, as a passenger. Of course with the closing of NASA, all future American Astronauts will also go as "passengers" ...aboard Russian space ships.Yikes!
