No Matter Who
The damage has been done. The lies and blood-libels have been swallowed. Officers of the IDF and leaders of the Jewish State are condemned as war criminals. And now Judge Goldstone himself says it was not true. So the question is, what happens next. And I'm going to go out on a limb and make a prediction. Here goes...

@Freyda - mazel tov for finding the 5 Muslims who claim to support Israel. What do they have to say about Mohammed being a genocidal mass murderer of Jews? Do they have any thoughts about their antisemitic/Koranic lit viewing Jews as apes and pigs? I'm not sure we need the "support" from people who believe in such vitriolic Jew hatred in their "holy" books.

Reminds me of the man who told terrible lies about his Rabbi. His conscious bothered him so he went to the Rabbi begging forgiveness. The Rabbi said "yes if you will do as I tell you. Take a pillow on a windy day, cut it open and let the feathers blow in the wind" The repentent man did this and returned to inform his Rabbi. The Rav told him to now go and collect all the feathers and then you will have undone the damage..The man said, "but that is impossible,they are scattered far and wide. "Yes said the Rav, they are."

This happens already:
Goldstone writes in the Washington Post that "..Israel’s lack of cooperation with our investigation meant that we were not able to corroborate how many Gazans killed were civilians and how many were combatants." And "..Israel's cooperation would have been welcomed". With other words, it's all Israel's fault, according to Goldstone.
Dry Bones already won his bet. It's right in Goldstone's WaPo Op-Ed piece when he sheds crocodile tears about Israel's not having cooperated with his investigation, the terms of which were to do hatchet job on Israel. Had Israel only provided information, why the report would have been more balanced and come to different conclusions.
So, as far as Goldstone is concerned, whatever flaws there are in the Goldstone Report are Israel's fault.
your prediction is exactly what goldstone did - if you read his "retra cction" he totally blamed Israel for his lack of information.
'Bones, they already did, as others have pointed out Goldstone himself said it was all Israel's fault that he couldn't be arsed to doubt the "facts" he was being fed. What happen's next is that everyone blames Israel and/or the Jews for Goldstone retracting his report.
Goldstone had three accomplices. Haven't heard their response yet, if ever.

The judge convicted Israel and tossed the death sentence upon world opinion on Israel. An act which convinced even the few, that were still not sure who the aggressor was.
Now, that public opinion is dead he says, "ah, ooops, killed the wrong one". And even if anybody did listen, what difference would it make?
The damage is done.
What difference would it make whatever Goldstone had said?
Israel would still be guilty in the eyes of its haters.
Had he said that Israel's hands were clean he would have just been some Jew covering for his people.
Let's face it, if Israel had never come into being there are those that would have to invent it.

I loved the story about the Chassidic rabbi who had someone spreading lashon hara about him. Finally, the guilty party fessed up and wanted to repent. The rabbi handed him a feather pillow and told him to go outside and slice open the pillow and spread the feathers to the wind. He did so and when he came back inside the rabbi said, "Now find each feather and put it back where it belongs."
I would like to believe that Goldstone was just taken in, but he's far too smart for that. I do not know what he is, but as far as I'm concerned, he's no longer a Jew, or at best, he's one of the top self-hating Jews the world has had the misfortune to know.

Former President Dubya and the REAL president we were stuck with for eight ugly years, Cheney and their co-conspirator Rumsfeld are all real war criminals. They massacred with malice aforethought, tens of thousands of people in Iraq and Afghanistan. Did the world say "Boo?" Hell no. Let ONE IDF person, a female at that, tell an Arab reporter to take off her bra and it is as though Israel had nuked the middle east.
That there is, has and, sadly, always will be a double standard in how the world reacts to the word Jew. An AMERICAN girl, wearing a scrap of cloth on her head was asked, "If the Arabs wanted all Jews in the world to come to Israel so they could kill all Jews without having to hunt them down, would that be okay with her?" Without missing a beat the (self-censored) adjusted her flea collar and said, "Yes."
FACTS mean nothing. PROOF means nothing. Hate is the be all and end all as far as they are concerned. Well, WE know the truth and that, to me, is all that matters.
The Messiah isn't going to be the one to square things around; the acceptance of Hashem Almighty is the ONLY hope we have for our continued survival. We will have to rub the words of G-d in their faces in order to achieve that; maybe it is time for us to start proselytizing again?

The people bitching about Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld on this post don't even get right who was doing all that killing of civilians for so long. It was not the US troops, it was the "insurgents". It wasn't the US exploding car bombs in markets, outside of mosques, massacring Shi'a civilians and then retaliating by massacring Sunni civilians. It was our enemies, both Sunni and Shi'a.
You should immediately get suitable treatment for your cranial rectal impaction conditions.

Honestly bones, you still got it! I KNEW where that cartoon was going, and yet I STILL laughed heartedly at the punchline. Well done!
Yaakov: It's really a bad news, worse news joke. Israel is getting blamed for the inaccuracies in the Goldstone report and the same critics are still denying that there were inaccuracies in the Goldstone report. It's like the anti-Semites who say, "The Holocaust never happened and we should have let Hitler finish the job." On Tuesday the Los Angeles Times published an editorial basically attacking Goldstone for retracting. The editorial never mentioned Goldstone's criticism of Hamas; just that Israel should not be let off the hook.
