Clock Moving (1988)

Today's Golden Oldie is from 1988. It always messes me up when we move the clocks ! When we move it forward one hour in the Spring it messes me up. When we move it back one hour in the Fall, it messes me up. I chose to post this cartoon because, well, tonight's the night! Yup. Here in Israel we'll be moving our clocks ahead and be going onto summer time tonight. So tomorrow, Friday, if the past is any guide, I expect to be messed up and grumpy.Labels: 1988, Summer Time, Winter

A zionist conspiracy that has back fired, do doubt. Lol. Or at least that's the hottest stuff out of Iran now.
Yes Bones, they're watching you and you can be assured that they'll be handing out sweets in the streets knowing that you'll be grumpy and so forth.
You can predict the idiocy of these mentally challenged kids with great enjoyment.
Its hard for me to picture a cartoonist being grumpy...
A grumpy cartoonist is unacceptable.
Bones what you should do is prepare for clock movements before they happen. For instance, start sleeping an hour later at least three weeks before In the fall movement start getting up an hour earlier three or four weeks prior to the change. VOILA no problem and no grumpy Bones.
This suggestion came from a Yiddishe Kop from Chelm.
I got no problem with the time change,,,,, dUh,,
The cats wake me up as the sun rises EVERY morning like broken clockwork-- every morning. One jumps on my chest and stares me in the eyes,,, and the other digs under the covers and attempts to CLAW my feet out of bed.
And YOU wake up grumpy >>> hUh----
As always you have a excellent style.
Jet Lag. An instantaneous trip of 15 degrees (about 1050 miles).
I also hate this time chamge silliness.
The thoughtful Chinese used to move their clocks faster & slower a little all year long...nice for us, bad for computers! ;-)
I wish they would put it one way and leave it alone!
I'm glad you've found an excuse for being grumpy. Can you find me one?

- What an unparalleled arrogance?! How's about leaving at least the hands of the clock in G-d's hands?
Awww, it's not all that bad, is it? Of course, I'm retired and I can sleep through the changes.
Clock hands are created by man. Light and darkness are created by G-D. A big difference.
B"H - OK Katz, so let's call it "time". But then you have to do without the play on the word "hands"
How about this: Clocks are made by man, light and dark are made by G-D. Happy now?
B"H - Happy may be an overstatement Katz, but let's say I can live with it. Let me explain. Jewish, G-dly, timekeeping is linked to the day-time. As the lengths of the days change over the year, so the length of the Jewish hour changes every day. A timekeeping like this would make me happy. The problem however is that it would make timekeeping irrelevant for all non religious purposes, as every town and every district would have it's own time, depending also on altitude. So, it seems that in the modern world, in order to coordinate highly complex human schedules, we are forced to use the goyshe concept of fixed-length hours. The time of the nations, as it were. So, I can live with it, but to say that I'm happy about it would be an overstatement. I'm not happy about it at all, I'd prefer Hashem's constantly changing time, the one He gave to the world.
You don't have a clock? Weird!!
