HANUKKA SAMEACH TO ALL PEOPLE.
The light from the Menorah in the Beit Hamikdash has been shining brightly ever since the miracle of Eight Days.. The Jewish people have been and will remain a "Light unto the nations"
The jewish state of Israel is now in the forefront leading Am Yisrael to the fulfillment of this goal in spite of the efforts of Jew haters to extinguish the flame.
We are the " NER TAMID."
Sorry to say but you're wrong... 1999 was NOT the last Channukah of the 20th Century... 2000 was.
I thought the year was 5771 and that the millium was a few years off.
I agree with Aaron and Anonymous: neither mathematically correct, nor Jewish calendar appropriate. Was awkward then, and still is today. Should not have been published, at neither occasion.
Anonymous and Aaron are both quite astute.
Hannukah occured in the 2nd century BCE. After so many years, being a year or two off on any calendar is forgivable.
Again to all people a happy and healthy(not too many sufganiot or latkes)hannukah.

Sorry to correct you, but we are in the 58th Century.

Why all the nit picking?? Bones just wanted to wish all of his fans Hag Sameah, not start all this. I like to argue and debate as well as the next Jew, but you people are being silly!!
To quote a popular song from the 60's, "Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?" Just keep the Light shining!
Happy Hanukka!
Number 2 you're right but maybe his computer did what so many others did they had a serious glitch in it, I know I had one like that. The one that was so expensive that ran every thing in France turned up it's toes too. It turned up in the North Sea as a ships anchor. The one I had ended up as a gift to some children so that they could do their home work easier.
Once again this cartoon was given to us as a "Happy Holidays" greeting for Chanukah. Nothing more. If the time line is wrong does not matter.
Katz, lighten up...
We remember the debate over whether the millenium ended in 1999 or 2000. I think the problem was that people saw a year that began with a different number and all zeros and thought that was the millenium, but I was a stickler and regarded the end of 2000 as the end of the millenium.
I don't think the writers intended to diminish Bones' message. Somehow I knew that someone would make a point about 1999.
I seem to remember hearing something about philosophers once arguing about how many angels could dance on the head of a pin.
After it had been pointed out to them that real people did not care, they quit.
And the real people danced in the streets.
Giggle....
My point exactly.
