Palestinian Talks (1985)

Today's Golden Oldie is a Dry Bones cartoon done 25 years ago in 1985. Back then, Mr. Shuldig (my alter ego) was tired of the "breaking news" about the Palestinians actually being ready to negotiate. "Hussie" referred to King Hussein of Jordan. An Arab country that would sign a peace treaty with the Jewish State nine years later (in 1994). Mubarak was, and is, the President of Egypt. An Arab country that had signed a peace treaty with the Jewish State six years earlier, (in 1979).

Why do you even bother drawing new ones, when the old ones seem to suffice? You could take extended vacations and still be totally up-to-date...sigh...
As usual you are (again) right on target. I so do enjoy your work, thank you

Sheldon asks. Why bother?
To satisfy Obama of course!
I too wonder what the need for negotiations is, if we are supposed to give everything BEFORE they agree to talk? Or will we give even MORE after the negotiations?
Anyone remember how Bibi said that he won't consider talking until they agree to recognize Israel as the Jewish state? Bibi, do YOU remember that you said that?
It might be useful if the occassional Israeli voter were reminded that the "intifadeh" acutally started before '67 and even before the "nakba" of '48 - they were killing us in '21, '29, '36.....
