I'm off to America to attend the National Cartoonists Society's Annual Awards Weekend, where I'll be giving a presentation on the history of Dry Bones. Regular postings will, I hope, resume on Monday June 14.

Doctor Frankenstein, as he did what no other person could do which was re-antimate a human body after it had died.
To bad for the good doctor what he created was a monster, the Frankenstein monster. His father was Frankenstein his mother was the lightning.
The doctor's first words were about his creature was " It's Alive!"
What was the last post about?
Hey, Coatjack! Who luv's ya, baby?
I have not heard anything about scientists creating a living cell. If it is true, though, then it is further proof we have reached the end.
They actually only re-enginnered existing DNA; they didn't create anything. It's a great scientific feat, but that's like picking a strawberry, chopping it up, and claiming you made a new fruit.
Hey, so funny cartoons here & blog too, I'll bookmark it right now! Thanks!
So when they manage to build a golem...
I agree with Vince LaRue. They have not created a living cell, they have replaced the DNA in a living cell with an exact copy assembled artificially.
It is a useful step forward, but it has been over-hyped.
The danger is that crazy people might use this technology to engineer biological weapons - but that has been possible for years. The benefit is that bacteria or yeasts can be designed with custom DNA for making complex drugs, and possibly other chemicals.
Who the ef is Ed Hardy? And why should coatjack go to business school, at least read s.th. about EFFECTIVE advertising? Well, it's probably just to bother the bones.
Ventner has created artificial DNA, not artificial life - there's a difference. The cell into which he introduced the DNA was living to start with.

Can someone please explain why Israel hasn't sent its own flotilla to deliver up to date medications and cement to the Kurds in east Turkey? And/or publicly recognized the Armenian genocide? Perhaps even have a national commemoration for it? Better yet, have the Israeli navy accompany the flotilla. I wonder how Turkey might look at its own flotilla then.
its alive??? it maybe that your though of dry bones is a live.
