It is time for America and the Obama administration to open their eyes and face up to the significance of the successful Fort Hood Islamist suicide attack. Here's an interesting analysis of the current situation by Robert Spencer:
"Major Nidal Malik Hasan, a U.S. Army psychiatrist, murdered twelve people and wounded twenty-one inside Fort Hood in Texas yesterday, while, according to eyewitnesses, “shouting something in Arabic while he was shooting.” Investigators are scratching their heads and expressing puzzlement about why he did it. According to NPR, “the motive behind the shootings was not immediately clear, officials said.” The Washington Post agreed: “The motive remains unclear, although some sources reported the suspect is opposed to U.S. involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq and upset about an imminent deployment.” The Huffington Post spun faster, asserting that “there is no concrete reporting as to whether Nidal Malik Hasan was in fact a Muslim or an Arab.”Yet there was, and what’s more, Major Hasan’s motive was perfectly clear — but it was one that the forces of political correctness and the Islamic advocacy groups in the United States have been working for years to obscure. So it is that now that another major jihad terror attack has taken place on American soil, authorities and the mainstream media are at a loss to explain why it happened – and the abundant evidence that it was a jihad attack is ignored."-more

The hand-writing is on the wall. The problem is that the "Politicaly Correct" are so adament in remaining politically correct, they are obscuring the fact that the United States - and the rest of the world - are in mortal danger. Islam is interested in one thing, and one thing only: Total domination of the world under Islam. G-d help us all.

On a more serious note...why in the world did not the army discharge him when Hasan(chops...from an old Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck cartoon) expresses himself clearly about his political/religious reasons? Back in Gulf War part 1, a Jewish helicopter pilot told his superiors he would fight in Desert Storm on benefit of the Arabs...the army discharged him right away. Clearly it is apparent that everyone is afraid of the Muslims in any way shape or form.
Oops...in my last comment about the Jewish helicopter pilot...he stated he would not fight on the side of Arabs, etc. Sorry about the goof.

The Americans are terrified of being attacked as anti-Arab/Moslem.
When are Americans - and others - going to wake up and realize that Islam is not a religion. Rather, it is a cult, and we deal with cults differently than we do with religions. Until we recognize this difference, there's going to be a recurring problem with the Moslems, and their unwillingness to accept democratic government.

I repeat it always: Obama is a Muslim (no matter that d cousin of his wife is a rabbi) and just wanna be open and not able to be accused from rasicm or whateva. and discharging Muslims from any office would spoil his relationships in Near East - and d Nobel prize would be a faux pas.

If you read "comments" on articles or letters to editors in Yahoo pages or many news sources, you get a clearer picture than when absorbing major, politically correct media. Plain Americans and Canadians call a spade a spade and are fed up. The groundswell is building and there will be a backlash not seen ever before in history and it will be ugly. Last night they were supposed to put to death another Muslim killer - the sniper from 2002 (haven't checked yet to make sure) who was a black American convert to Islam. A gentle looking man as is the present one and as is bin Laden, too.
Does anyone doubt that Japanese Kamikazi pilots were anything other than dedicated servants of their nation?
Meanwhile, the entire nation was mobilized to contribute to the Imperial war effort. Everyone had a role.
There is very little difference between the world-dominating desires of Imperial Japan and today's muslims.
Some will commit murder. Some will commit murder and suicide. Others will force non-muslims to convert. There is nothing else like Islam.

A religion is a successful cult. There is no basic difference.
Letting this cult member stay in the forces was extremely careless, but I guess sooner or later he was going to commit a massacre, if not where he did then in a supermarket ot a church.
There is a difference between a cult and a religion. Judaism is a religion: there is no central authority. Hasidism is a cult: members obey the directions of a particular rebbi.

I agree with the slam to the Vulcan race, they're honorable people.
Most of the one's I saw played their roles well because a great deal of the information was taken from the Jewish Religion, not the Muslim.

He himself admitted he was a Muslim, yet we still have people right here in my neck of the woods who refuse to believe such. Oh, he's a christian, I've heard that time and again.
Stop pushing your religion and start trying to win.
You cannot attack every muslim everywhere if you expect to win the battle. You must seperate them from the violent ones and treat them with respect.
You need to take off the rose colored glasses you're wearing that only see things through the eyes of your religion and start looking at hte real world in a more pragmatic what-do-we need-to-win attitude.
The reason why OB looks Vulcan, is because when he himself saw Nemoy at a dinner, he flashed the Vulcan hand signal to him. Which may say more about our dear presidents maturity level than anything...lol.
You should all read 'Useful Idiots', which explains the long history that Dems. and progressives have had with being deniers of true evil, and believing terrorists and others who torture as being victims.

Until somebody provides a clear "go kill them" order, the evidence leans towards Hasan just being depressed, leading to a psychotic episode.
He wasn't hiding in plain sight; he was saying "let me out of the army...I don't want to go overseas."
I live just south of FT Hood. This country (USA) is blissfully blind to the homegrown terrorism in our own front yard. In Texas the day after this happened talk shows (which their are many here) everyone who called in that I heard except for one person said they are tired of the military accepting muslims into the 5 services we have protecting us and others abroad.
This is just the media trumping a growing problem with the muslim population. They (Muslims) don't consider being pc why do we continue to? The statement the he said before he opened fire was reported by a witness. In English is "Allah is greater". Sounds like Jihad terrorist to me. There are many more like my husband and I that are not blind to what this latest attack was. I also believe not all Arabs are Jihadists but there are many.
