Today's Golden Oldie is from August 31, 1979.
A cartoon that I did thirty years ago in the Summer of 1979! The U.S. President was Jimmy Carter. The Israeli government was headed by Prime Minister Menachem Begin.Then, as now, the man in the White House was trying to bully us into complying with his demands and vision.Jimmy was rejected by Americans after his one term in office. Do you think that Obama is headed for the same fate? ...and do you think that we are still strong enough to withstand the Presidential Pressure while he is still in office?

The Jewish state as we know it is "Jewish" only in name, and in the eyes of the outsiders, just like the kapos were "Jewish" for the SS. Jews know better what Jewish is and losing the kapos is not such a great loss, after all. Actually, it's desirable. They will have to go if we want a truly Jewish state to rise from the dust. And yes, evil Hussein Obama will of course fall, with the help of G-d, taking with him business, Wall Street and America. The "yes we can" concept is something COMPLETELY opposed to what Hashem wants from mankind and I'm sure He'll find a way to oppose and punish the arrogants. In our days.

With respect to Israel, there are many of us Diaspora Jews/Israel supporters who are actively criticisizing him for his Cairo speech and his narrow minded view on settlements that he apparently picked up from Abbas.

The situation which this cartoon describes refers to perhaps the most frightening scenario imaginable... the "poor hapless citizen" waiting in line for the slaughter.
In this "insanity soup", will there be even one American Jew who will have the guts to stand up and be counted while all the 90% of American Jews are still basking in "Obama mania".
The scenario suggested in this cartoon suggests the dumbfounded public, both Israel and US are simply victims of whoever the current president is. In this case, "Obama Messiah" who won by a landslide and now forcing us to reap the rewards of his "evil empire". How does all that work? Such mild mannered "intelligent" and calm discussion sounds like Chamberlain after he met with Hitler.

well, i hope you're not that 'strong', because this wouldn't bring the peace to anyone. israel needs to give up and obey obama and UN. that's the only way for reaching peace and new palestina.
I hope and pray he will serve less than one term and that Am Yisrael has the strength and faith in H-shem to reject whatever Obama wants.

Israel is an independent country, not one of the U.S.'s states or territories. We will be bullied and pushed no more, no matter who is the President of the U.S.
