Today's Golden Oldie is from March 1999.
Back then, ten years ago this month, we were all wishing each other a "Happy Holiday!" ...because it was Passover.
* * * Passover does not begin this year until the evening of April 14, two weeks from now. ...but yesterday a cab driver wished me a cheery "Happy Holiday!" I didn't know what he was talking about. Later that day I heard a local radio show host sheepishly say "Is it too early to say 'Happy Holiday'"? Today, two other people wished me a "Happy Holiday!"?
I don't know why it's different this year but it is and we're getting into a holiday mood really early. So this Happy Passover 'toon from ten years ago seemed appropriate for today's Golden Oldie.
* * * Happy Holiday to us all!
Hag Sameah! CORRECTION FLASH!! UPDATE!!! THE WORLD IS NOT OUT OF STEP! IT'S ME!!! PASSOVER STARTS ON THE EVENING OF THE APRIL 8TH!!! CAN YOU EVER TRUST ME AGAIN??

Hi,
For a few months your 'comment' on this crazy world we live in is the first thing I see on my screen every day. Much enjoyed, thanks!
This time however a small correction - Pesach starts this year April 9th, not 14th as you said.
Whatever, yes the holiday mood seems to have permeated deep this year so to end "HAPPY PESACH" to you and yours and to all Am Yisrael for whom we all care so much.

Shalom from Texas, Y'all
Has anyone noticed that Pesach is an object, a short event, NOT a day or a week-long period. The Pesach was the sacrificial lamb, and the sacrifice was to be followed by seven days of Unleavened Bread.
It was the beloved Sages who decided to change the Torah's command. Nowhere does the TaNaKh mention "Passover Day." It may say "the day of THE Passover," but the day itself is NOT the Passover.
Maybe when Messiah comes, we'll see the way it's supposed to be.

Its never too early to wish someone Happy Holidays, if your early you will just make them smile. It's the 14th, like it is every year, just not April.
Wishing you well. Marc
I think it is wonderful to begin a holiday a little early in the world we live in now, and yes Bones, I will trust you..I forgot my own birthday once. I was a new mom, my baby had been sick all night, got up and my family was all there(mom, dad, grandma, you name it) and I couldn't figure out why. I went in the kitchen to get the baby a bottle and saw a big cake on the counter. It had my name on it...lol..So everyone is entitled...
Pesach is Hebrew for the Passover holiday as well as the sacrificial lamb. Technically, the 15th of Nisan or the period from the 15th to the 22nd of Nisan is "Chag Hapesach," the holiday of the Passover offering, but I don't think this is a major concern for any of us.
