Hezbollah at War

Today's front pages of every Israeli newspaper and all of our media, are screaming about Olmert's maybe going to have to step down because it looks like maybe he's going to be charged with criminal charges about stuff he did while mayor of Jerusalem. Doing a daily editorial cartoon, however, means that I try to comment on the most important story. So I was torn between the Olmert corruption story and Hezbollah's declaration of war on the Lebanese government, where the moves by the Iranian/Syrian axis now seem to be taking a dangerous turn.So did I pick the significant topic to "cover" ?What do you think?

Love your work. The developments in Lebanon are certainly more important than Olmert but I dont' think your characterization of Hizb as 'declaring war' on the Lebanese government is accurate, fair or helpful to Israel. The habit of demonizing Israel's opponents has not worked to the nation's benefit. I discourages negotiation with people who have repeatedly asked to talk and to that extent makes violence, which REALLY harms Israel, more likely. But aside from that, I love your work! Keep it coming.
Just want to say: your blog is not read only in Israel. So you took the more important topic!
By the way: Thanks for your great work.
I actually was not aware of either of these events. I say, go for whichever makes a funnier comic.
I included this in the May 11 issue of Haveil Havalim.
But you have no need to worry, Condi and George are going to ride in and save the day...
Rice: Hezbollah killing innocent civilians in Lebanon
She has PMS and a lot of influence, and that scares me!!
Bones,
You do such great work. making people laugh in such difficult times is a gift.
Texasfred, I agree with you.
love your cartoon. this one really made me laugh!
To Mr. Kirschen,
Yes, I think this was the right choice and the only right way to put it.
To "the comic torah",
I think it is pretty accurate, because there is no attempt here to demonize them. If demonization is when someone organizes a coup d'etat, well, you have tons of demonization to take out of history books, which are covered with the word "coup d'etat" or "show of force." Also, when did Hizbullah show willingness to negotiate with Israel? Plus, why should Israel negotiate with Hizbullah if the only legally recognized sovereign in Lebanon is the Lebanese government?
To Texasfred,
when will you stop with your chauvinist comments about Ms. Rice? I understand that everyone has a right to disagree with her, but how does "she has PMS" make your position stronger (not to mention more intellectually worthy)?

You can relax your sphincter a few notches, it was a very weak attempt at humor, get over it...
