antiSemitic Epidemic (1976)
I was surprised to discover this Dry Bones cartoon from a July some thirty one years ago!Back then, the spreading epidemic was antiSemitic ...and the main "carrier" was an Egyptian terrorist named Yasser Arafat. He posed (and was accepted) as a leader of the "Palestinian" people and was found worthy (by the West) of a Nobel Peace Prize. These days the epidemic is no longer simply antiSemitic. It has changed and grown and become so virulent that we fear to name it. It is now a worldwide plague of religious-inspired terror which calls for the repression of women and the suppression of independent thought. What surprised me about the cartoon from back in 1976 was that I had not remembered it when I did a cartoon just last week that examined the current state of the spreading virus .
