Israeli Presidency: Plan B
The Israeli Presidency is a ceremonial, powerless position.
If we can't fire Olmert, or convince him to resign, maybe we could "kick him upstairs"? For those of you who might not understand... in the Israeli system, the public doesn't elect the President. Our representatives in the Knesset do that. They do so after cutting political deals in smoke-filled rooms hidden from our view. That's why the punch-line talks about needing "somebody to talk Olmert into taking the job".
