Counting the Days
This Dry Bones cartoon has a double meaning that is obvious to religious Jews. The Torah commands us to count the days between Passover and the Shavuot holiday. We count each night for 49 nights. The next day is Shavuot. The commandment could have been to celebrate Shavuot on the 50th day after Passover, but no... we are commanded to actually count the days. This means that there must be something important in the very act of counting. For more info about this, take a peek at previous postings on Shavuot.
