Water (1992)
Back in 1992 it was becoming obvious that the world faced a water problem. At the June 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (Earth Summit), held in Rio de Janeiro, a plan for the 21st Century was adopted. It was called Agenda21. It called for a World Water Day. On December 22, 1992, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution declaring an annual World Day for Water to be observed on March 22 ...and today's the day!
